I read here often that many players are really 'playing' for the second prize when they play Mega Millions and Powerball. OK, if that's all you really are hoping for then the Cash4Life game would seem to be the better game to play to win a million dollars.
It actually may be a lot better than the odds that are posted for winning the 2nd prize or a million dollars. For over three years I have noticed the posted odds don't match the odds I get when using a lottery odds calculator.
I am just talking about the 2nd prize odds on Mega millions, Powerball and Cash4Life. All the states publish the same Cash4Life odds for the 2nd prize.
Cash4Life - 2nd prize: 7,282,018
Mega Millions - 2nd prize: 12,607,306
Powerball - 2nd prize: 11,688,054
However, when I run 60 total numbers with 5 needed to win the second prize ... these are the odds I get: 5,461,512 - 1 ... total combinations, not 7,282,018.
As I mentioned earlier, I noticed this over three years ago ... can others here run the odds also.
If my figures are correct, then the Cash4Life would seem to be the better game to play for a 'million' dollars.
Of course, playing the extra dollar on Mega Millions and Powerball will change everything and you also have a shot at a large jackpot.
I am only talking about a $2.00 ticket on all three games and only winning the 2nd prize of a million dollars.
Just would like some others to check the 2nd prize odds on the Cash4Life game.
