This isn't about Ltto strategies so to speak. But personal ones. I'm at my wits end with the lotto, but part of me wants to stay in the game. Personally, I cannot afford to play anymore. I have to spend a lot on gas,and throwing even $10 into lotto instead of my tank can mess me up. I see threads where people buying books of tickets...right now my budget is like $20 a month, or $5 a week lol. But I keep telling myself I need to play more to see results.

Since I began scratch offs, I've been buying $5 tickets, but I am so OVER IT. These Florida lotto $5 tickets only paying out $5-$20 at a time...if anything at all. I've purchased $5 games in different states and it's pretty much the same. I was planning to buy like 3-4 per week, but that's not doing any justice.

ive also switched how I've played lotto also. Instead of buying $5-$10-$20 in tickets per draw, I just get the advanced play for a week or 2 and buy 1 ticket. That seems to have worked better, but "waiting for my number to be called" isn't happening either. Just keep getting free tickets.

so now I'm considering a different strategy. Screw all these low odds games and do something I've been consider myself to do for months now: Buy 1 $20 ticket per month. Or possibly 2 $10 (that worked for me on my biggest win...$50 after buying 2 $10 tickets).

The issue I have is, if I only buy 1 $20 ticket a month...luck aside, is it a good way to stay in the game without going over budget? (I also did buy my first $20 a few months ago and won $20) buying one big ticket with better odds versus crap odds on $1, $2 and $5 tickets.

NeedyNotGreedy, My Sister in Law gave me a $20 scratcher and I won $50.00. I spent forty on MM & PB and ate the rest.

Your plan to only buy one $20 ticket per month is reasonable. It keeps you in the game. You never know when a windfall will occur in your life.

Thanks, I did for a little while commit to just buying 2 $5 each time I get paid (but as a part time waiter, that can easily be 3-4 times a week). But when I look at it as a monthly expense, it gets expensive.

I just want the bigger wins, not necessary $3,000,000 spectacular. But heck, $500 will make some changes for me. $1,500 even better. I just can't with these $5 and $10 wins. It's torture lol. I can easily get $10 or $20. And based on what people are saying, I think for an occasional player like me looking to step back from it, I need bigger tickets for better wins.

what will probably get me is thinking if I don't win off 1, maybe the one after it will ugh. BUT, at $20 a pop, it'll be a lot harder to part with another $20 than $5 lol.

Ill just allocate $20 once a month into my "dream fund". At this point, I've already lost for the month playing crap $5 and lotto tickets, so I'll be waiting until September.

I am in FL too, northeast FL. My suggestion is to pick one game out of Lucky Money, Lotto, MM or PB. Buy an advance play for the whole month. Throw in the extra dollar if you want. But that's the only game you play that month. One ticket every draw.

The best strategy for you would be to spend as little as possible of your own money while leaving yourself open to winning as much as possible. Seems to me you should be buying two Lotto and two Fantasy a week (12 and 10 numbers each on two tickets one day)(Lotto play numbers above 31 Fantasy play numbers above 13) and what's left in one dollar scratchers. When you win play bigger with their money, then back to the least possible. Be sure to visit a site like lotto crawler to find the scratchers with the most prizes still available.

It's foolish to play every day and costs more unless you work next to a place that sells tickets. It is better to save up to make a proper wager less often that has a slightly better chance.

To play scratchers right you need to buy at least four or five at a time. Example: This week I was down to my last twenty and on impulse bought four $5 scratchers. First two nothing and I'm already thinking this doesn't work anymore, the third I win $5 and I'm thinking, oh great spend $20 to win $5 and the last ticket wins $50. It took the $20 to win $55 whereas $5, $10 or $15 wouldn't have done it, scared money doesn't win too much pressure.

Or find a better gig that pays more . . .
