Winning Permutation for Texas Daily 4 Wednesday 12:27 p.m.:
0802/RCRA
I chose Alpha Double CC.
Lottery digit double 'RR' doesn't come around very often.
As a result, I don't track Double RRs.
Info2
It goes without saying that playing the lottery can be an expensive endeavor.
I'm always amazed when I read a story about someone spending hundreds, if not thousands of dollars, trying to win a lottery prize.
I'm a widower living on a fixed income. I can't always afford to play.
But even so, my plan is to spend the least amount possible to give myself a chance of winning something.
This means that when I play Texas Daily 4, I have to buy at least 4 lines, but not spend more than $5; which, by the way, is cheaper than going to a movie with popcorn and a drink, or eating at a fancy restaurant.
So, to cover the minimum number of bases, I have to choose:
One straight (based on an Alpha Double Ex: (ABBC) (1458)
A modified straight where the C is replaced by an R (ABBR) (1450)
A lottery digit double where the first digit for the AD is repeated (1448)
An Alpha Triple where the second lottery digit double is repeated (1455)
I play all lines both ways.
I bet a dollar on the straight.
Total: $5
An outstanding question is the sequence of the letters in the Alpha Double.
Logging a game's history on graph paper according to a set of rules creates a column (I believe it's Col III) where the Alpha equivalents are entered.
A visual evaluation will show that there are many varieties, so to speak.
Unfortunately, I know of no tool that can be used to make a 'good choice' using the Game History chart to determine which positions the doubles should be assigned.
However, when the Equivalents are logged separately on an Alpha Doubles chart, a clearer picture exists and better choices are possible.
Remember, it's guesswork.
You evaluate all of the available information and choose.
The arrangements that I chose were made according to the listing on the Alpha Doubles chart.
Not very imaginative, but it's the best tool available.
Sorry, but describing the Alpha Doubles log is beyond the scope of what I'm trying to do here.
What am I trying to do?? Show that a non-math workout can win!
Self to self - good luck Thursday!!
