  Some states tolerate unsolicited proposals for new lottery games, though I doubt they would ever implement an idea submitted by a member of the public. Just wondering, have you ever submitted an idea to your state's lottery? Do you have ideas for new games?

  Only my hairdresser knows for sure.

  I only play MM & PB. I only play scratchers when they are gifts to me.

  Earlier this year when residing in Texas, I noticed on a certain scratch-off game, it had rules about being able to claim the jackpot grand prize at a local office. It was a direct contradiction to the general rules governing certain dollar amounts that had to be collected at the headquarters in Austin. I wrote a letter to the commission and received a reply in the early part of the afternoon from a representative on Friday. By the end of the day, they had actually gone into the rules for that particular game and changed the conflicted collection issue that was at hand. 

  The next day was Saturday and I wrote an "atta boy" to the director of the TX Lottery( Gary Grief ) and to my surprise he replied to me. So the TX Lottery (IMHO) is the epitome of a professionally run agency.

  The Tennessee Lottery on the other hand. 2 letters written & 1 phonecall made ---zero replies  

  I might as well stand outside and tinkle head-on into a windstorm as to try and get an answer from that group.

  Illinois has monitors by its lotto machines and they show winners.....they used to show first and last name and town. 

  I wrote to the IL lottery and suggested they stop so as not to be responsible for another Abraham Shakespeare. Now they only show first name and last initial. Oh well at least that was something. (I am pretty sure they monitor this site).

  I sent them a suggestion about choosing where your losing dollar would go if you didn't win, libraries, fire stations, things like that.......they said the technology wasn't there to do it.........then they came out with charity directed scratchers. I got the feeling that if you don't already work for the IL lottery they don't want to hear from you regarding game suggesstions.

  Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any. So many systems, so many theories, so few jackpot winners. 

  

  There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

  When All or Nothing first came out in Texas, they had (have) 4 draws a day, like Pick 3 and Daily 4. On P3 and D4 a player can choose which draw they want to play, if not all 4. But with AoN, you can't choose. whenever you buy your ticket you are automatically going to be in the very next draw. So, I sent an email, and Michelle Byrd responded that they were aware of that and it would be discussed, but, ultimately, nothing came of it.

  At least they responded.

  CT, Illinois lottery may monitor LP, but I seriously doubt Texas lottery does. I don't think they give a rat's a$$ what players want, until it affects how much money is made. Cash 5 game is a good example. That game was terrible, now it's better, but it's still not as good as other state's.

  A few years ago here on LP there was a discussion or two about the IL lotto game competing with PB on Wednesday nights. The IL lotto had drawings on Mon., Wed, Sat. 

  In those discussions it was mentioned that the highest jackpot game on Thursdays was Little Lotto (now called Lucky Day Lotto.) Soon after that was posted the IL lotto games was changed to Non., Thurs. and Saturday.

  Coioncidence? Maybe but it's one of the reasons I think the IL lottery monitors this board.

  My suggestion to the California lottery would be to eliminate the $1, $2, and free play prizes and make the second place prizes bigger in their jackpot games.  I don't think they would go for it though. There's probably some research that shows when people go in to claim puny prizes they just spend it on more tickets. And the retailers wouldn't like it either, because when people go in to collect their $1 prize they probably buy some snacks too while they're there.

  Texas really does do a great job, overall, with handling such issues regarding all their games. I think they could still do a little better, though, with how certain games are constructed with odds and down tier winners...especially the amount(s) won. Personally, I know it's a long shot but, I've been contemplating serious correspondence over this pre-test business. I'd just like to see a brief run on all their draw games without a single pre-test so I can log results against my own systems versus those with pre-tests conducted. 

  Small games, frequent wins, and regular payouts 'cause.....

  There are seven days in the week...'Someday' isn't one of them.
