  Once Upon a Long Time Ago 'The Reality of the 50s'

   

  These were the happy days. The 50s

  Really great stuff.  I lived in seven of the decades of the 20th century and the 50’s were the absolute greatest.  Nothing in the 21st century has come close.

  It wasn't perfect but I would gladly trade all the technology of today, except medical advances, for a return to the late 50’s and the conditions of convivial political protagonists, seemingly honest politicians, overall conservative mind set, secure neighborhoods with doors never locked, sock hops, NO cell phones, everyone still watching out for others as a carry over from the WWII years.

  Hell, even a new car that required valve grinding every 15,000 miles, tires every 10,000, piston rings and rod bearings every 30,000 wasn’t all that bad.

  Basically, this is the way it was when   "we" old folks  grew up. A  Great video history and glad to share

  

  Above main street picture of any town USA was not a Hallmark fantasy card but rather a reality scene capturing the way we were during the glorious Eisenhower years:  when I was driving my heavy Chevy  :-)
