I was thinking of random things you would need if won a jackpot lottery to help you claim the ticket. I am not talking about what kind of advisors you need but other stuff like security and office stuff. Here is a list i thought of. Any ideas

Digital and paper copies-

Stick

Extra memory

Envelopes for

Original ticket

Copies of tickets

Copies for family

Printer/paper/ink- printer that prints pictures

Safety Deposit Box

Bank phone numbers

Extra lock box for home

Key lock box

Separate digital and key lock box for digital

Binders for information and stuff for binders

3-hole puncher

Bag-messenger to put binders and other things to take to adviser meetings

Lottery handbook

PO box- 2once for business one personal

new Cell Phone

new Email address

New password book and address/ phone book

Check computer security system if need upgrade

Protect your credit card in wallet

Paper shredder-micro or confetti

Security system, fix garage door, change locks- family also?

Interesting list, I never gave it much thought before. If I did, I might get some of those "diversion safes" that look like cans of WD-40 or Coke but have secret compartments inside.

Not sure about starting a Xanax habit, though. I thought blow was the lottery winner drug of choice.

Only my hairdresser knows for sure.

Zephbe, I think the person is being overly cautious to ensure that process is documented for integrity purposes up through the collection time. I would have to cross off the sleeping pills, eventually exhaustion would settle in and the adrenaline factor would subside. I might go with a video camera to record the interactions with the team of professionals. The boarding for animals option is a unique one.

How about some BS repellent to deal with all those who haven't won but are so willing to give you advice on what you will need and what you should and should not do.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any. So many systems, so many theories, so few jackpot winners.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

So I am probably more paranoid than others. I figured if I won a large jackpot, I would be so shaken up that I couldn't think or sleep hence the Xanax and trying to be organized and secure ahead would help if I ever won a lot of money. And I couldn't find that kind of list. What I came up with just things I thought of.

It would take awhile to set up the advisers and trusts so I would still live in my house so I thought I would need security to keep things safe and ease anxiety. Plus since I live in a state that i cannot be anonymous, i would need the house safe after claiming before I could sell. Also it would take a couple days to set up the safety deposit box and you might want contracts in a fireproof box at home.

Also Po box, phone number and email only for the advisers and lottery and separate one's for personal use would be prudent.

I was also worried that people would get credit card numbers off you which is why you would need a wallet shield for the credit card and the visa gift cards for a couple weeks until people forgot you were a winner.

The printer, binders, envelopes, handbook, messenger bag would keep everything organized and in one place. I have binders for parent's medical stuff, personal medical, taxes, work stuff, house repairs etc already.

The numbers were just things off the top of my head I would need that you wouldn't find on a lottery handbook. I figured lottery numbers were in the handbook and it's definitely on the claim form.

And the books and forms were to help with advisers and decisions.

I would need the storage unit to put important stuff in before I claimed ticket and didn't have to go back to house to get.

It was just a crazy idea that I was wondering about.

(And I don't mean financial advisers or lawyers).

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any. So many systems, so many theories, so few jackpot winners.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.
