I'm pleased to announce several updates to the Lottery Post website, for both desktop and mobile users.

The first update is an all-new feature: On This Day in History. The new feature shows historical events at Lottery Post and around the world that happened on today's date (or any date of your choosing), including news, lottery jackpots, events, births, and deaths. The worldwide events, births, and deaths come from Wikipedia, so they are truly worldwide-focused (not just focused on the US).

For desktop users, On This Day is available in the left-side Quick Links, as well as in the Resources menu.

On mobile, you can access On This Day from the Resources page.

Along with the new On This Day page, there are a host of other important changes made to Lottery Post, including:

  • Updated all of the "datepicker" controls (the small calendars you click/tap on to choose a new date) with modern styling, fixed some bugs, and made them somewhat larger for easier use with touch input, such as on a tablet.
  • Added member profile pages to the mobile website, so now you can see all the same details about any member on a phone that you can see on a desktop computer. Just click a member's name to see their profile.  You can also see your own profile on your phone by tapping your avatar in the upper-right corner of the screen and then tap My Profile.
  • In addition to member profiles, you can also now see any member's recent forum posts and shared favorites on the mobile website. Click their name, which takes you to their profile, and then click the Recent Posts button or the Shared Favorites button.
  • Major stability improvements to the forums on the mobile website, such as direct links to forum posts now correctly scrolling the post into view, avatar sizes that keep the correct image proportions, dynamic page adding that works much better in forward and reverse directions, etc.
  • Fixed several links to the desktop website so that they don't bounce back to mobile and preserve timeout options.
  • Several other performance and stability improvements.

As always, feel free to leave feedback about these items, or send me a PM if you have some comments you'd like to make privately.

Enjoy!

Todd, should we clear cache or cookies or both?

You don't have to clear anything.  That's something you think about doing if something is not working properly on the website.
