Before we want to get into this question, I want to thank everybody on my other "ethics" thread for contributing. I was entertained by the dramatic "family" lively banter. I almost thought it was Thanksgiving in June! I have not responded there, because I am so busy with my workouts, doing five different states, with my "JeetKuneAlmostCanDo" methodology.

But a lot of times ,in the middle of a workout, or data analysis, or macro designing, I get inspired. I go to import data.

But that inspiration is often short lived.

I went to my state website and I saw a notification. Then I lost it. I could not get back. I said "Well I could always go to LP...they are pretty on point."

But I am still annoyed.

I know the Lottery is supposed to foster education.

But with all this money has any body educated my states webmaster?

Is this a systemic situation, or I am just unique feeling something is wrong here?

Illinois - It's not as good as it used to be

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any. So many systems, so many theories, so few jackpot winners.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

Yea, I agree. I could do a search for game results and do a straight copy and paste tol get nice formatted text in the form:

Not only that, I used to be able to search for a specific date range. NOW, if I want to get last years results I have to use a pop-up calendar and select a month at a time.

Also, with the old one, they used to list address of where winning ticket sold, you now can't get the info

Yup. I remember some years back when winning Little Lotto tickets were being sold at White Hen Pantries like crazy.

Also there used to be a feature where you could type in combos and see if they had ever hit, really showed hoe tough it was.

I have to say the Texas Lottery website is pretty good. Easy to navigate and has good features, like showing where winning ticket s were sold, including scratchoffs. You can also enter numbers for any draw game they offer and see if they ever won in history.

JUST LOOK AT THE ODDS OF ANY JACKPOT GAME, THAT WILL TELL YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

To me a great lottery website lets you download all past draw game results as a csv file, shows you how many prizes there are in total and how many are left/claimed for each prize level of scratch-offs (not just the top prizes), and has comprehensive financial reports posted somewhere on the site. Texas, Louisiana, and California are three states that I know of that meet all those criteria.

A good lottery website will have all past draw data available, but not in as convenient a format as csv or downloadable. It will at least show the top prizes remaining for scratch-offs, and have comprehensive financial reports. Washington state and DC have a good lottery websites in that regard.

The worst lottery website that I've know of is Montana's. You can't view any draw data older than 6 months (and not downloadable or viewable on a single page), no info on how many printed and how many claimed scratch-offs prizes there are, and no financial reports that I've been able to find.

I think their recent revamp of the site was for the better. I haven't done it consistently, but I often look at the total number of the lower tier winners and see what percentage of them play the PowerPlay, Megaplier or Extra! options. I'd like to talk to those who won a million or a hundred grand but left several times that on the table b/c they did not pay the extra buck for the multiplier. I think I'd be happy to have won so much money, but still a little sick to my stomach.

I consider USAMega to be my "official" website, though. By checking it, I can often go to bed thirty minutes earlier after waiting on the national lottery results. Todd almost always posts them before the official MM and PB websites have them up. I'd like to know how he does that, but I'm sure it's a closely guarded secret and not even the Russians know how he does it.

You have to go to the bottom of the main page to the link Unclaimed Jackpot Prizes. It will show there for brief period.

My State “Arizona” has no searchable database for any draw games. They NEVER post where a winning ticket was sold. They’ll give you an area between x road and y street. I also play California lottery and love the website.

On a scale of 1 to 10... The The Tennessee lottery should be called the One-essee Lottery. Very poor set up, too many RNG games but most of all, lack of transparency by the director Rebecca Paul Hargrove & her minions.

I have to agree with you there bucky.

I am so dillussioned by my states website. The data used to be so user friendly. It had a wheeling application. I could copy and paste into excel WITHOUT downloading squat.

There is an interesting correlation that I noticed when they first made the change, (this is the second iteration), but I will discuss that later.

Instead of going to my states website, I actually go to TEXAS. The MM data is very user friendly to download into excel.

I have never exported pick 3, but I think I will do that just to see how they deal with the very ANNOYING leading zero problem.

They also post pre-tests which is very interesting. (But according to the LB its kind of useless.)

Texas actually made a switch to their matrix and reduced the odds for players. Which is swell!! But i still dont like QP as a two number win prize. But I can accept it in order to make the JP bigger. But historically I only found ONE store that actually gave me winners, with my Free Plays. I had to RUN THE RIDGE to get to that store. GOD bless that store. Its terminal had a very good code.

I once knew a girl, I used to call her Lotto Jedi, she would post pictures of her "FREE PLAY" wins, I swear to GOD, that she would post a 4/5 win with a free play at least once every three months.

She has some skill. Hence she is a JEDI!!

In ten years, I have never won even one time a 4/5 with a free play.

Needless to say I was jealous and pissed. She eventually blocked me on twitter for harrassing her.

I said "Hey!! Why dont you tell me what store you go to play your free plays!!"

she was like "No, I dont want to tell you!! You might be a stalker!!!"

I said, "Hey!! Its not fair!! The AI algorithm in your store is much better than mine!!! Tell us where the store is!!"

"NO" she replied. "Its my store! Find your own!"

I said "PLEASE!!!!???"

She said "I want to tell you, but I am afraid, if I tell, and you came here, you will take away the luck."

She brought out the SITH in me with that repy I tell you. But she was probably right.

So far its a dead heat!

I had a thought. Well two thoughts actually. One was for the C4L. How do differing websites offer data and information for the same game in different states. Because it would be interesting if all the players from NY went to the NJ website, because it was BETTER.

So I decided I would try to tackle the pick 3 game in TX. So i went to the website. It was a little hard and frustrating to get to where I needed to be to download the data, but I got there after about three minutes. (which is way to long IMO). So i downloaded the data.

Now they have four draws per day, which is just insane, but the data came in nice, with no leading zero atrocity.

That was great! But then I noticed they by default separated the morning from the day from the eve from the night, and

I dont like default filters. I like to apply my own filters based on observations that I am observing.

I think I will send them an email to see if somebody on that end can fix it for me, or provide it for me merged, as part of their customer care program. Is that too much to ask? I mean they must have somebody over there with a pay grade that will allow them to do that for me. I mean I am the customer right? Dont they have a customer care program?

I will try and tackle it a little on my own, but I am gauging from the last time I had to fix the leading zero atrocity, and synthesize the mid with the eve it was at least three hours of work minimum. But to synthesize the mid/day/eve/night, is just taking it to a whole nother level.

Not sure what to do. Time for bed.

Not a big fan of MD Lottery. They fail to give HOW MANY WINNERS for each game ( if someone knows where it is please let me know!).

Also to access information on each game, like payouts ect you have to use a drop down under GAMES. Instead of being able to do it from the WINNING NUMBERS listed on the main page. Makes no sense.

NCEL is (North Carolina) they have always had a current up to date website where you can research but I do like LP b/c I can do side by side comparisons of numbers and patterns .
