references are points of support, or basis for not walking in circles, examples= the last draw, delays, short, medium and long, repetitions of the last draw, patterns by position, filter by previous draws, filters by endings, ex= 17th digit 7 is termination, etc.

even being random, you can create a reference point, of course not in a single event but in 10 , to 20 draws, each draw leaves digital ballasts of some pattern, it's up to us to find out, for at least
to hit some secondary prizes, the maximum prize comes from hitchhiking

Take a keno 20/70. You can play pick 10. Your reference point is 10 odd / 10 even. I play 10 even and am still right. I once picked 7 repeating numbers, 7 numbers repeated, 7/10 result. I think that this is rather a question of spelling, like with one r or two r's, than a question of statistics and lotto-ballistics. - Just to go against the stream I would before the drawing randomly decide to pick one half of the balls of a big-balls set and the other half of the balls of a set of smaller balls.
