Figured I'd do something to break the routine of same ol', same ol' here.
Couple of days back I took the time to explain a different type front digit notation. I went ahead with it in some dead time to see if and what difference it would make in the overall focus. Turns out there is no difference.
Here's the literal front digit patterns broken down by decades and the number of hits each pattern has throughout a 435 (4 numbers drawn of 35) matrix. It is what you see. There are 126 combinations that contain 4 numbers below 10 in any 435. So we have a pattern of 0000. On the other end there are 15 combinations that contain all 30's. Simple enough.

The other notation used is to total the number of four digits and use that as a pattern. In a 435 you have four places the 0, 1, 2, and 3. (It would be the same for 5/39) The first number denote the total number of front digit zeros, the second denotes total 1s, third - total 2s and last is total 3s. When you break down the total 435 matrix it looks like this......

Comparing the two you see no change in the total number of hits in either so when you break your game by decade the notation you use doesn't matter in the overall hit count.
Of course, if you choose to have more balanced segments (rather than decades) in the breakdown, things do change. For example, if I break the 35 numbers into 0-9, 10-18, 19-27, 28-35, (or 9,9,9,8) sets, the notation doesn't change, but the number of hits do. Like so....

The literal 0000 front digit pattern, 4000 denoted pattern remains constant, but everything else gains or loses.
Nothing earthshaking. Just something to pass along that might be of interest.
