Team Red and Team Blue are playing in the World Series of Baseball. Best 4 of 7 games wins the Series, and it ends when a team has won 4 games.

The game venue schedule for Team Red is Home / Home /Away / Away / Away (if needed) / Home (if needed) / Home (if needed). Expert baseball pundits have analyzed the teams and have determined that the probability of Team Red winning a game at Home is 0.65 (65%) and Away is 0.4 (40%). Assume these probabilities remain fixed regardless of the outcomes of previous games.

What is the probability that Team Red wins the Series?

This is an interesting problem and a good programming challenge. I got a probability of

0.59637825

for Team Red to win. If the home/away are reversed, they are still favored to win, but by a smaller margin. Quite and advantage for a team to get the first two games at home.
