  Trying to decide if I should just drop 24 dollars on a 24 way combo cash 4 ticket from time to time or should I continuously play straight match for $1.

  If I'm confident in the numbers I'm playing, I personally love playing a wheeled bet every once in a while.  (The $24 bet you're referring to.)  I've hit a wheeled bet in Pick 3 (not yet in Pick 4), and it's an amazing win/feeling.
