Raven62, have you ever researched the randomness and/or the integrity of these so-called random number generators?

It just seems to me the picked numbers would be spread out somewhat more evenly more often than they are. If you are reading this G5

This is not a reply to my own post, but rather a notice that once the spread of numbers became relatively evened out, I matched three numbers on two tickets plus a couple two digit matches. It was only worth about 44 bucks but still felt good after a dry spell. I am not happy with their so-called random number generator.

I have never lived in a state where a RNG is used to select lottery numbers. I lived in New York State close enough to The New York - Pennsylvania border that I did drive over to PA and buy many Pennsylvania Lottery Millionaire Raffle tickets which uses an RNG. Although I'm not generally in favor of RNG's, I was willing to play The Millionaire Raffle because the odds were so low to win a million bucks (125,000 to 1) that I looked past the fact that an RNG is used to select the winning raffle tickets.

The main complaint most players have about RNG's is that they are actually computer software which could be tampered with. Ball and drum draw machines could be tampered with, but it's a lot harder to "put the fix in" with those. It's easy enough for somebody with programming skills that works at the lottery to change the code in a computer program (ala Eddie Tipton and The Iowa Lottery) and nobody would know it happened. I think Eddie was caught not because somebody discovered he had put unauthorized code in the program, but rather it was post drawing happenings that drew attention and raised suspicions. G5

As far as "the spread of numbers" is concerned, a "normal distribution" of the numbers (a "bell curve" if you look at the distribution graphically) happens in all lottery's, including Michigan Fantasy5. I see a bell curve with my software when I display MF5's drawing results graphically.

That said, no lottery is as random as "experts" say it should be. Proof of that is the number of duplicate sets of five numbers that have been drawn. The experts say "That should not happen" but it routinely happens across all Pick5 games in America.

I'd sum it up this way - It's the lottery. Who the hell knows what's gonna happen??? You pay your money and take your chances.

You're much more likely going to lose than win, but if you do win big, you probably wont regret having bought that ticket. Congrats on your small wins. They all feel good because they're so hard to come by. G5

G5, good attitude. I know it is pretty tricky to prove a rng isn't authentic, and everyone probably feels the same way at one time or another. Mostly I agree with you that it's just the way the lottery is and you shrug your shoulders and deal with it. It's the challenge to try and match numbers that is the fun part so we have to remember to sit back, enjoy the ride, and keep trying to improve. Man, 125,000 to 1. That's pretty good. Good luck G5.

Sorry Raven62, I don't know which rng the Michigan fantasy five uses. I don't know if it matters anyway cuz the little checking I did on it made me feel like they don't share much information on the integrity of the process on purpose.
