  Good Afternoon Group

   

  I have embarked on a personal challenge - that being testing the mirror states theory.  This is an obvious attempt to increasing the probability of choosing the correct digits for the Pick 3 game - specifically for MD.

  I had found through a search on this site a listing of mirror states that someone had come up with some time ago.  I always questioned the validity/accuracy of this listing, and wanted to see if there was anything to it.

  This posting is to discuss my pathway to the results that I am seeing.  This is part study of an approach, with hopes of developing some process to regular "happy endings". 

  To start, I am using MS Excel for not only obtaining the data via web scraping query, but also the formulaic processing of the software to break apart and reassemble the data for my analysis. 

  This posting is in no way an absolute path, but merely one that I have taken to perform my assessment.  Others may have more efficient and effective analysis methods.  This just happens to be my process, and would appreciate any ideas of automating the analysis/assessment process.

  Ok, so lets start with the mirror states listing.  It can be found here on Lottyerpost.com:

  In short, I am assessing if any drawings that appear in the states listing (for MD) do actually show up in future MD Pick 3 (Mid or Evening) drawings.  Per the listing the link above, MD is supposed to mirror the following states per the respective drawings:

  Maryland:#1 Picks:CA-LA-OH / #2 Picks:DC-MI-SC-MN-ON

   

  I am querying another website, using Excel's data query functionality, to automatically update my WB with all the drawings (focusing only on 2023).  Then, I am using a separate query within the same workbook to combine all the states data into one central table.   Would strongly encourage searching youtube for excel educational opportunities in using Excel functionality to perform some of my same processes.

  With all the states drawing information on one sheet, I then proceed to break the data apart, and reassemble it in an ascending order.  As an example:

  2/28/23 CO Evening 0,5,1  become  0,1,5

  I am aligning the drawn number in increasing value doing this to to create proper pairs for matching between states. So, as an example, I am looking to see if the CO evening drawing matches the MD drawing on the basis of pairs 01, or 15.

  Next, I am comparing the MD drawings, both Midday and Evening drawings, for a particular day against the same types of drawing of the states listed on the mirror listing for a period going  back 5 days.  I am attempting to assess if there is a "pattern".  The pattern to me may be one in which you regularly see that a similar pair appears in states X, Y, and Z consistently within within the 5 days prior to the day of MD drawing assessment. 

  I of course need to then be able to determine if the pattern comes up "more consistantly" of the day drawing in the other state to the MD day or evening drawing.  This is probably the most challenging aspect of the assessment, as you can quickly figure out this would be a real "slug fest" to get through; it is not a fast process. 

  This is a sample of my results:

  

  As you can see, the MD 3/1 evening drawing had the matching pairs appear in CA and OH drawings, and the MID drawing matched drawn pairs in the Evening DC and CA drawings.

  One drawing results do not make a pattern (obviously) but begins to the lay the groundwork to assess for potential increased probability of wins going forward. 

  My focus is on assessing day and drawing time back from the current period that I should consider on a go forward basis for what numbers should I consider playing, if anything at all.
