We all want a good win, but what if it isn't enough? How much do we invest out of our winnings trying to do it again? Like getting a hole-in-one, try, try again.

Having not thought that far ahead, I'd say "unknown," but maybe 10%. And not all at once.
I'd pick and choose my spots meaning likely play more, and in larger amounts.
And if it wasn't working I'd go back to playing less and watching more like I do now.

I voted zero as I would use the winnings to buy a new car. My wife and I would still continue to play using our regular $40.00 per week.

The term invest in any kind of gambling does not mix.

"Guaranteed' does nor either.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any. So many systems, so many theories, so few jackpot winners.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

Doubt anyone can buy a jackpot with even $100 grand, but 10% seems to be about average of how much a lottery player might invest trying to win a second or even third jackpot. Bet lots of player have used smaller winnings to play a more expensive strategy.

IMO putting money into anything with the hope of return is a form of investment. Loosely speaking, investing in cheese fingers at 20% interest is an investment in maintaining one's muffin top, though not an investment I care to make. The UK Premium Bond Lottery and the former Canadian version were not considered gambling because investers got their total investment back any time they wanted. While most other lotteries slide in under the term "Gambling" the waiting period makes it different from instant gratification games.

"Invest means to put valuable resources, such as money, time, or talent, into something that you expect will give you a personal or financial gain or benefit in the future. You can invest in assets, such as stocks, that you hope will increase in value and allow you to sell at a profit. I'm guessing. 10% just sounds like a good number off the top of my head.

I'd have to do an Aaron Rodgers; go dark, figure out how much netting $70,000 impacts my life, consider my wants and needs. And like anyone else, I could find something.

Then there's always the thought of splitting the win with the kids and giving $1,000 bonuses to some friends.

LOL....I made the same investment without knowing it! I'm that crazy neighborhood guy who feeds anything that shows up hungry. Cats, dogs, squirrels, possums, rabbits, deer......everybody eats.

hello raven62-in the lottery we have all kinds of probabilities against the player, so we have to invert, play to be wrong, have you noticed that making a list or study, leaving out 5% of the bets, and that's where the number is drawn! game and play your mirror

I have to admit a couple of things with regard to this poll.

First it's a good/fair question, and I've never thought that far in advance as to how much I'd play after a $70,000 win so I really don't know what I'd do other than I'd probably keep playing like I always have. In my personal financial world, while 70K is a very nice chunk of change, its impact to our current quality of life wont be all that life changing. It'd way more than pay off a car loan and some credit card balances leaving us more discretionary income ("fun money") each month. Whats left after eliminating debt might go towards a fantasy of mine which is to buy a cabin on a lake in the woods of New England. It wouldn't necessarily completely pay for the cabin, but without the car loan we could easily swing a monthly payment for what I'd need to borrow to buy the cabin.

Second, as I mentioned above, $70,000 isn't all that life altering for us Something like a $500,000 net to me win would make a huge difference in the way my wife and I currently live. Yeah, I'd still buy that cabin in the woods on a lake, and there'd be many other things/places we'd do/go during the course of one year that our budget currently doesn't support. We'd make a lot of good memories. I know someone the same age as me whose funeral is next Monday. His wife died last year and he "fought an extended battle with dementia" according to his obituary. I know that he had an excellent quality of life, and I'd hope with the money from a win like 500K that I could at least have the same quality of life he had, and possibly exceed that level. G5
