How are the tools on this site? Does it help? Does it hurt? comments, questions, concerns. bring it on.

As standard member I don't have (and don't need) access to LP wheeling tools.

I have my own wheels designed through Cover Master.

I consider wheels absolutely necessary for playing jackpot lotteries. My lottery is 649.

Wheels were designed for distributing pre-selected numbers into tickets. That's their sole function, nothing else. They are not suitable for selecting numbers, as many still do.

If used only for distribution wheels will help in winning.

There is one exception: wheel filtering. There are 3 issues with this:
1) Filtering completely destroys the wheel structure replacing it with new structure of completely unknown characteristics (balancing)
2) Filtering reduces the number of numbers to play thus reducing the hit probability
3) With reduced hit probability filtering will also reduce winning probability

For these reasons I don't consider wheel filtering a viable playing strategy, so it's permanently out of my consideration.

I generate custom wheels to fit my playing needs. All wheels have their potential, usually called guarantees. It's irrelevant to me.

What I care about is wheel current performance, together with number selection system. This requires constant system/wheel combination testing and retesting as results frequently fluctuate.

I tested 3 approaches (as an example):
1) One wheel with 30 tickets
2) Two wheels with 15 tickets each
3) Five wheels with 6 tickets each

#3 seems to be the best alternative as it often provides multiple winning tickets in the same draw while others could not do it.

And that's my abbreviated take on benefits of wheeling.

Hopefully you'll get more responses from other LP members although they are quite busy now optimizing insects for lotteries.

Wheeling is a proven method that does work. I used to wheel but stopped doing it. My gripe with wheeling is you need a big budget to play. Not everyone have a big budget to wheel.But if you good in spot picking with a small tight wheel you will be in the money but that require above average skill

Yes, wheels do work, but only in the sense that when you wish to play a pool of more numbers that will fit on one lottery ticket a wheel will distribute your numbers in a mathematical pattern that provides a guarantee about the total distribution. A wheel by itself is not a complete playing strategy.

The different wheels available and different distributions produced will provide different guarantees that if the numbers drawn are within the pool of numbers that you have chosen to wheel you will have at least one distribution containing the guaranteed amount of numbers from your pool. That will be the minimum guarantee. Wheels can and often do exceed their minimum guarantee so there may be more distributions in the wheel that meet or exceed the minimum guarantee. But, never forget this: Each ticket that you purchase (in the wheel or independently) will give you exactly one chance at the Jackpot, 2nd, 3rd, etc, prizes for your game. Wheels cannot change that.

And yes, another thing you should always remember is that choosing and using a wheel should always be the second step in your lottery strategy. Choosing the numbers (any way that you prefer to) for your pool should always be step one. No wheel in the known universe will produce any results if none of the drawn numbers are in your pool of chosen numbers, but a well constructed wheel can produce great results when the drawn numbers are in your pool of chosen numbers.

Because I have lots and lots of time and cpu cycles to spare I keep Covermaster continuously working on lots of wheels simultaneously for various games. I create lots and lots of wheels, test them, reach conclusions on whether or not to keep/use/delete them. I also spend more time and more cpu cycles to create databases, spreadsheets, and programs that I use while attempting to choose numbers to put in the wheels I create. So far all of my work and results show that I am really, really, really awful at choosing numbers that will be drawn so my wheels tend to be very large and cover lots and lots of numbers. :(
