Tech Support just made major, new software updates recently to the Advantage Gold software and the Wheel Gold software.
Be sure to Read the "What's New" area in the Help menu when viewing the software.
I Just Installed Version 4.0.1.174
But when I checked see what's new, I get the what's new for version 4.0.1.146
Build 4.0.1.146: From 02/04/2020
NEW: Chart P - Position Hit Chart with Position hits graph. This chart was requested by a number of users. It shows the number of times each number hit in a specific position (when the numbers are sorted from low to high) but it also works for Powerball with the numbers in order drawn. The graph, especially, shows how numbers have an inclination to show up in certain positions. All columns are sortable and the graph shows one position at a time but can scroll to the next position with the mouse wheel or mouse click on the scrollbar or using the position box at the top of the up/down scroller..
NEW: Chart P - Help page has been added to describe the new chart.
FIX:Print Headings - when printing Powerball charts, when P- was selected the heading was showing "With Powerball" instead of "No Powerball", and when P* was selected it would show "No Powerball" instead of "Powerball Only".
FIX:Main form - "Grid index out of bounds" after clearing chart 0 filters - when filtered file size is less than the start range value.
FIX:Chart 6 - was not opening over the main window when main window was not on the main screen in multi-monitor systems.
FIX:Chart 4 - Double bottoms pattern was being identified incorrectly. The rules the program is using have been updated in Chart 4 Help to reflect this change.
FIX:Chart 1 - Select History - File | Preferences | Other - "Enable One-Number Lotteries" Checkbox was being ignored. Now one-number files (the powerball only in powerball type games) will show only when this is checked. The one-number files remain in the folder so they can be used by Advantage Plus.
NEW:Chart F3 - Sum Listing - added OUT and AVERAGE columns on each row so one can see how long it's been since a sum hit and it's average hits. By clicking on the cell in the TIMES column you can see a listing of each draw with that sum and also a graph of the gaps between them as well as the most frequent numbers in drawings with that sum. (This last is not a new feature but maybe more useful with this improvement).
So what are the new updates about LJ ?
And what is your latest version?

NEW: Big Change in dealing with filtered history and our wheel programs. With so many lotteries making additional drawings per day (like the day and night drawings and double-play draws), the need for filtering is greater so dealing with filtered history is more relevant. The filters allow you to select the specific portions of the history you want to work with, like a specific drawing per day or a day of the week you want to play.
To see the fullest extents of this change you must also update the Wheel Gold and Filtering Generator programs so they know how to deal with the difference.
In the past when Smartpicks were sent from Advantage Gold to the Wheel programs, the Smartpicks included the name of the history file. The Wheel programs then opened the file but with no filters - so anything done in the wheel programs was based on the unfiltered history.
The filtered filename for any history file is the bare filename with a '$' added, ex: fl0536$.
With this change, Advantage Gold will now save the filtered history to a temporary file and pass that filename to the wheel programs. So they will be dealing with the same filtered history. If you use the test drive after making a wheel you can verify that you are dealing with the filtered history.
If you save the wheel based on a filtered file, it's filename will show in the index, identified by a '$' added to the filename. Later if you open the wheel program directly from Advantage Gold with the same filtered history, the saved wheels window will reopen that same filtered file.
To keep these temporary files from proliferating, a filtered file passed to the wheel program is deleted when the wheel program closes. Warning: don't use a '$' in the name of a history file - it will cause it to be deleted if sent to the wheel program.
If you open a filtered saved wheel and it cannot be found, (like when you switch histories within the wheel program, load a different saved wheel, or open the wheel program outside of Advantage Gold) it will open the full history for that lottery. The main usefulness of the filtered history is when creating wheels, i.e. the fill-with and test drive options for sure.
Filtered files do not know how they were filtered, only the drawings that passed any filters used. What that means is that the wheel programs could not possibly regenerate the filters on an unfiltered file.
Fix: Chart E Custom Group Size - Was not adapting to different ranges in the Powerball field. This mostly affected only Powerball Lotto which is the only file we have that has different Powerball number ranges (45, 39, 36 and 26 currently).
Chart O - Runtime Filters -
New: All filters BIG CHANGE - The top of the chart now shows the drawings in the file and the drawings in the selected range (newly added). The standard range button, , and label have been added at the bottom of Chart O (This is the same as is on all the other charts and works the same). All filters will apply specifically to drawings within the specified range ONLY. Previously the filters applied to the entire file-regardless of the range setting. If you want to include more drawings than the specified range - click the range button or the text next to it and change it to what you want.
Drawing Range Filter (Option A) -
New: Start Range Default Value - The default value for the start range was changed from a hard coded 1 to the starting draw number of the current range. Also the position of the start and end edit boxes have been switched so the start is on top. The changes to All Filters above, make this filter less likely to be needed.
Fix: Structure settings - The Range filter was failing to remove out of bounds structure range change entries when the filtered drawing range was shortened.
New: Smart Picks - Chart W - Made the selected number of Smart Picks stick and set the default value at 18 which is what most of our winners used. This is a chart level setting that applies to all lotteries.
