  Surprised you haven't gotten more responses. Maybe it's because a good program will show the mundane things things like h/l, e/o, sum, front and back digits and total digits.

  And could be. More people rely on programs than on visual inspection. Not to say either way is better. But it does remind one of the woman in the kayak commercial complaining of how kayak can compare 100s of bargains but she prefers to do everything for herself.
