This is something I use to cut down how much I spend per number. I don't know if it's ever been posted before, but it does work overall more times than not. Let's use 372 as an example. What I do is use page 1 and 2 of the previous winning numbers list on the CA lottery website, and find the pairs pertaining to the number I like.

Ideally, you want the first three pairs, so every once in awhile, you may have to go to the third page for the third pair. So with the first three pairs you want to use them as they fell without rearranging their order...if you do that you will only get 3 possible plays...327, 372, 237....this allows you to play $3 straight or straight/boxed instead of $6...most times I double up on the same 3 numbers to score bigger.

Last nights 176...if you look there were 5 pairs to draw from the first 2 pages....76, 71, 16, 61, 67...if you only use the first 3 you will get 761, 716, 176..

With 539 there were four pairs....59, 39, 95, 53....which gives you 539, 359, 395

059 is an example of where it did not work...showing a possible five pairs..90, 09, 95, 50, 05...it's still in there, just not in the first three pairs...if i really like a number in this situation i will just play all 6 ways.

Anyways, nothing is 100%, but hopefully this helps some of you win more and spend less. As always back test any theories to see if it works for you.

Very intriguing. But just to be clear: this is a method to use *after* you've selected a play/s. Because couldn't this apply to any previous play; and you'd end up with endless amounts of plays to play? You have to *already* have narrowed down to, say 372, *before* you apply your method, right?...

Yes you are correct...you would first have one or two numbers that you feel positive about and this would help you narrow down which versions of those chosen numbers to play. I started noticing this awhile ago when I was spending too much money trying to cover numbers that I liked but not knowing how they would drop.

Another example from what I posted...if like Dalvin, if 195 was a consideration of yours, then your pairs to work with from the previous numbers would have been 59, 95, and 91...giving you the options of 591, 951, and 915.

This would have given you the straight win.

Hey Dalvin,

My reference is page 1 and 2 of the previous winners on Daily 3 CA Lottery website...I posted a longer explination on page 5 of this month Lotterypost thread for california. So for your 195, I scanned the first 2 pages for any pairs from 195 that dropped in previous numbers...thus we had 59(from 539), 95(from 495), and 91(from 391)....leaving the pairs in the order in which they dropped you form your 3 playable numbers....591, 951, 915... with 915 hitting straight and only spending $3 to play them. And that is pretty much it...works most of the time. Has a higher ratio of working than not working. It is pretty much meant to help anyone who has their mind made up on a number or numbers, so that they might capitalize on a straight win without draining the wallet. Hope this helps everyone.

So tonights 961 would not have worked with my method if you only used the first three pairs...91(from 915), 16(from 176), 69(from 609)...

this would have given you 916, 169, 691 which if you played straight/boxed would have still won you $117 for a $3 play....

Looking further there is one more pair 61(from 161) which would have produced 2 more numbers 961 and 619....961 being the one we needed...like I said doesn't

work all the time with just the first three pairs....sometimes if I really think a number is going to drop and I find myself in this situation then I will still play the 5

possible numbers, in this case that would have been $441 straight/boxed on a $5 play. There's always tomorrow.
