Hey everyone,
I couldn’t add a new post to the old thread since it’s been locked, so I’m starting a new one to share something interesting.
As I mentioned before, I’ve been working on a universal app that aims to predict winning Powerball combinations. My latest result was for the May 10th drawing. The winning numbers were 5, 20, 28, 39, 42 + 13 (Powerball).
According to my program’s calculations, two combinations of number tens came up with a 1-in-96 probability of being selected:
0, 1, 3, 3, 4 and 0, 2, 2, 3, 4.
Both were equally likely, and I couldn’t determine a stronger favorite between them.
After that, I had to pause and work on improving the program, so I haven’t been able to run it again since. But as you can see, one of those combinations matched the winning one pretty closely.
Once I’m done with the upgrade, I’ll continue experimenting. The app is turning out to be pretty complex, so once I finish the first working version, I’ll need some volunteers to test it out. There’ll be a short tutorial on how to use it, then a test period, and afterward I’ll be collecting feedback and usability-related suggestions .
If anyone’s interested in helping out, let me know! I’m still figuring out the best way to collect a list of emails for sending out early access—if anyone has ideas on how to manage that, feel free to share. Input from lottery's fans would be appreciated.
Hoping to have a working version ready by the end of the summer.
Thanks!
