Well, everything runs on code so, probably.

The chances of winning? Possibly.

I don't care what anyone says, anything is possible.

When or if I play Powerball, I believe I have the same chance of winning if I let the machine pick or if I fill-in the numbers in manually.

For other games, not so much.

Of what i can tell, AI can not win the lottery and here is why...

Lottery (at-east ball based ones) is a hard coded game and AI can not read the sequences and codes used let alone, the randomization process. However, if you know the codes and sequences then you may try AI to help you speed up your processing but AI alone can simply not. If you tried, the results would be no different from that of an Excel number generator.

Even with the RNG games, you cannot predict what numbers come next, assuming that the lottery runs their computers the same way as slot machines.

As I work with slot machines, I know how they work. It is as follows:

Every slot machine has a computer chip that generates random numbers constantly. It doesn't matter if someone is playing the machine or not. None of them are set to "win" or "lose". None of them have any pattern. If the thing is on, it is generating random numbers.

When you hit "spin", the computer takes the next random number generated and looks it up in a table which tells it what reel settings to display. Computers are fast; this occurs in a fraction of a second. The reels spin around (physical reels or video reels, it makes no difference) and stop at the setting determined by that table.

This makes it completely impossible to predict what the next spin will be. Even if you knew the seed value and formula for generating the next random number, because thousands of random numbers get generated between spins, no one could possibly know what the next spin will do.

If the lottery uses an RNG that only generates random numbers one time for every drawing, that would be subject to prediction. If you know the seed value and formula, you could figure out exactly what will be next. But if the lottery uses a computer that is running all the time, there is no way to know what random number will be generated when an employee hits "go". AI certainly wouldn't know. It isn't a time machine, which is the only way to know what the next spin on a slot machine will be or the next result of an RNG or ball game result will be.

Tucker Black, Excellent explanation. One of the casinos I worked in during the 1980s installed some retro nickel slots. A few of the old time bowmen said, "Well hello old friend" when they saw them. They told us they won very often on them by seeing what symbols showed up on the first two reels and if they displayed a potential winner they would 'time' pulling the slot handle. Let's say each real had seven symbols so three reels would have 7x7x7 combinations. Far different from the computers as you mentioned.

Your post made me try a new approach in chatgpt. Instead of pasting past draw numbers and setting the parameters myself to make it give me a new set to try, I am having it create a rng from the past 40 drawings with no input by me. So will see what happens with the five sets for a cash 5 game.

Lottery numbers are way easy to predict than you think. Most ball based lotteries have a fixed number of numbers which remain the same regardless of ball sets. What you mean by random is not random at all but, is based on previous position of each number as explained on my video in Math Section.

Okay, so the AI won't be able to generate the next winner, so let's take advantage of its large-volume information processing power to create special wheels with higher and lower weight in each position, synchronizing with the minimum and maximum of each previous draw, with filters for the endings (last digit), e.g., 17 7, where 7 is the last digit. Wheels with positional weights synchronized with patterns, hot and cold frequencies, etc. It will be a new type of wheel, to play for 10 to 20 draws.

Every hand in video poker is dealt from a random 52 card stack, minus your hold cards (54 if playing with jokers). Even multi hand poker... it explains why in a game where you play 10 hands, you could be dealt a Queen of diamonds on 2 hands at the same time. The virtual deck is constantly "shuffled" until you draw cards... even when nobody is playing it.

This is why regardless of the random state of the draw machines, I prefer to look at past draws... there are zero guarantees, but I feel like I had a hand in the selection process. Slots or Video Poker, the house always wins, but you feel more like a participant in video poker.

AI only does what it was coded to do. It was created by humans and they can't solve randomness either.

No, all ball based lotteries have a fixed number of numbers for the duration of that version of the game. The same is true for any game of chance, and hardly limited to lottery games that use balls instead of an RNG. A standard set of playing cards always has 25 cards, a standard die is always a cube with 6 sides, and regardless of the method of choosing the winning numbers a lottery that requires you to pick a set of numbers from a choice of 70 number will always have 70 numbers.

That said, I think I might see one reason for your confusion about randomness. A lottery that draws some number of balls from a set of 70 isn't random in the sense that because there are only 70 numbers to choose from the results can't possibly include all of the infinite other numbers that exist. That doesn't mean that the selection of balls from the subset of all possible numbers isn't completely random.

I have a very private wife. She comes from a family that's very private. They're so private that if they don't know you, they definitely wont talk to you, and if they do know you, they gotta like you. If they don't like you, you aint havin' too much of a conversation with them. Took me more than just a little while to have conversations with them at her family's gatherings.

I also have a nephew and he's kinda geeky. He retired after working for both Hewlett Packard and Cisco Systems. He was a network engineer. I give him some street cred because he keeps up with the latest IT industry trends. Keeps in touch with his old work buddy's etc.

Last week I had a telephone conversation with him. I had him on speakerphone because I was in my house. I thought my wife was in her home office working with the door closed. My nephew and I got into a heated debate about AI. (I really don't know much about AI but I would never tell him that but he figured that out anyway) He told me that he was having difficulty getting AI to bring back information to his display screen because he really "couldn't get the prompt quite right". He added that "sometimes AI is flat out wrong too". He said that Cisco has instituted classes to train their employees how "get the logic right in the prompt so as to get high quality results returned from AI." But his real issue is that he thinks AI does a lousy job of protecting a users privacy. He says there's only one AI app he'll ever use because the developers of it go to great lengths to protect people's privacy.

Little did I know my wife had come out of her office into the kitchen! She overheard some of the discussion..... After she stopped working for the day she wanted to know "Just what was 'Joe' taking about with that AI thing? I mean exactly what was his problem with AI and privacy?"

I remember thinking to myself "Uh-oh. This aint good." That's because I couldn't articulate anything to her about AI and privacy even if I wanted to, not to mention AI in general. And she isn't all that "techy" either so she probably wouldn't understand it even if I could explain it to her. Therefore I told her "If I used AI to win the lottery, and I actually won millions of dollars, then AI was gonna rat me out by telling everybody who I was, and where I was located!" I thought she'd know I was kidding. WRONG!

The moral of this story is, don't use AI to try to win a jackpot. It aint gonna happen, but if it somehow does happen, you might get a boatload of shirt from your wife even though you'd be living on Easy Street. It just aint worth it. Trust me. G5

I think AI is just as good a method for picking numbers as a QP or Rng. It also eliminates personal preferences for certain numbers. I like having it analyze no more than 40 past drawings to create a new rng each time. There are no guarantees with any system
