  I am happy to announce that the Lottery Places app, which is used to locate lottery retailers in any state and several other countries, has a new version ready to install right now!

  This is a complete redesign of Lottery Places, rebuilt from the ground up for the latest iPhone, iPad, and CarPlay.

  NEW PLATFORMS

  • Native iPad support with a side-panel layout that shows the map and retailer list together
  • Apple CarPlay support — see nearby lottery retailers on your car's in-dash screen, automatically refreshing as you drive, with one-tap turn-by-turn directions on your car's screen

  DESIGN REFRESH

  • Completely redesigned interface following the latest Liquid Glass effects on iOS 26
  • Light, Dark, or System appearance — your choice
  • Refreshed map pins, smoother animations, and haptic feedback throughout

  SMARTER SEARCH

  • Apple Maps-style autocomplete shows location matches as you type
  • Search history saves your recent searches so you can quickly return to places you've looked up before
  • Faster, more reliable address and landmark resolution worldwide

  MORE RETAILERS, FASTER

  • See more retailers as you pan and zoom, with smarter pin loading that keeps the map snappy
  • Faster fetching means less waiting and more discovering

  EVERYTHING ELSE

  • Reorganized settings sheet with the same Light/Dark/System theme controls you already know from Apple's apps
  • Improved retailer detail screen with cleaner layout and clearer actions
  • Many small fixes, polish improvements, and accessibility enhancements

  Built into the app is an easy way for you to report any errors or problems with any lottery store location. Just tap Report Error on a retailer, and report what's wrong.

  To install and use the Lottery Places, go to https://www.lotteryplaces.com on your phone or tablet and tap the button for getting the app from the App/Play Store.  It will go straight to the app's page in the App/Play Store, where you will find the install button.

  Now the Android app is going back into a development cycle in order to incorporate all the huge improvements made in the iOS. After that, the Android and iOS versions will be in sync with all the same feature set and modern interface, and will remain in sync over the long term.

  Both apps will continue receiving maintenance and feature releases over time.

  Let me know what you think after upgrading to the latest release of Lottery Places! You can post feedback here, or use the in-app Feedback option to send the feedback through the app.

  Also, whether you're an iOS user or an Android user, I would greatly appreciate if you would take a minute to rate the app in the store. There is an option right from the in-app menu to rate the app, so it's very easy.

  As an iOS developer myself congrats.  I spent 3 years doing a commercial real estate app and worked extensively with MapKit.  MapKit has changed a lot in the 10 years since your last update.  CarPlay support is sweet !!!

  It was cool testing the CarPlay stuff during development. Really interesting development work! Now on to Android to bring it all up to speed with iOS (including Android Auto).
