  Last year my son dated a girl who lived in Virginia and while he was there i  visited got signed up to play the Virginia Lottery so I could place bets on the Virginia Lottery website with my debit card.

  Anyway I live in Tennessee but whenever I came back here i was on my phone trying to play as usual but I couldn't due to not being in Virginia.

  So my question is this so is there not anyway to be able to still wager on the Virginia Lottery website i am only one state over???

  Anyone else had this issue before??

  No. You have to be physically located in the state to play online. I can be in DC and it still does not allow me to play online in Virginia. Your location has to be on to play.

  Most states that operate online sales (e.g., Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington D.C., etc.) enforce geolocation and require in-state presence. You can be an out‑of‑state resident who previously registered an account using a U.S. address, but purchases normally must originate from inside the state.
