Forget high end cars, mansions and bling and the like. The goal is to keep a low profile. A bungalow like people have at the Jersey shore fits your purposes much better. Don't get a car newer than six years old. Cut your cable tv down to the minimum. If available take public transportation often enough to be noticed. When grocery shopping take things out of your cart and be heard saying 'those days are gone' or something similar. Being seen dumpster diving might be a good idea. Be seen asking panhandlers for any loose change..................... This thread is for fun, keep it going.

You don't have to act poor to keep a low profile. Just don't go on any crazy spending sprees! None of what you are suggesting sounds fun at all!! Why bother playing lotto if you are going to live like you are in poverty after you win!?! That's just crazy!!!
You can still have a nice new car, like a Mazda or Toyota or something like that (nothing too fancy!) and a modest house (not a mansion!) if you don't already own your home. Honestly, I wouldn't use public transport either. Never use it now as I hate it. Dumpster diving! No thanks.
Personally, if I managed to win $4+ million, I would continue living the same as I am now just with the added bonus of a yearly vacation (instead of every 10-15 years) and having the ability to update my car every few years as I would be living (and saving) off the interest earned each year from investing my lottery millions. $75k-$100k per year is enough to live quite comfortably.

Carry a trash bag with me every where I go to pick up empty bottles and cans.
Pull up to next to people filling up at the gas station and saying, "I'm broke. Can I get a dollars worth"?
Telling the pizza shop to cut your pie into quarters and then saying you should only pay for half a pie cause you only got 4 slices.
When you want 50% off on a buy one get one free sale.
Arguing with a store clerk for charging you $1 for two 50 cent items, when your coupon says 2 for 99 cents.
When the tire shop has a buy 3 tires get 1 free sale, and you say, if I put the spare on the car can I get 3 for the price of 2.

If you want to hit straights pick the order using letters not numbers. ABC ABCD. It removes the decisions of trying to choose hot, cold, due, not due, digits in each position. The trends will become obvious. Once you have the order play all your combos in that order.

Would you believe I do several of these things already? In all seriousness, it is good to make people think you are just getting by without saying it. When I buy these small frozen dinners that are on sale, I tell the cashier I only but them when they are on sale. It goes back to the Millionaire Next Door book. And who has cable any longer?

i would have said wear clothes with holes, but then i remembered that distressed clothing is in fashion and more expensive now.

I've mentioned this before but a Jackpot Winners Witness Protection Program is a good idea. JWWPP. HINT, states or state lottery commissions could run it and create even more lottery revenue for the states. I doubt any jackpot winner would begrudge the state for such a program as long as it's kept to a nominal fee.

Distress them yourself. If you want to "seem" poor you have to do things poor people would do.
