Happy Sunday!
I have two new features to tell you about today, and both of them are about the same thing: helping you keep results and searches the way you like them, while we expand the games available.
Both are for every member, at every membership level. You just need to be logged in, with your account activated. What you save is kept with your Lottery Post account, so it follows you to any computer, phone, or tablet you log in on.
My Default Layout
The Daily Numbers Games and VTrac Lottery Results pages each have a new My Default Layout menu. On Daily Numbers Games it's right next to Advanced Tools and Options, and on VTrac Lottery Results it's just below the options.
Your default layout saves:
- the regions you have checked (United States, Canada, Europe, and Caribbean)
- the Pick games you have checked (Pick 2, Pick 3, Pick 4, and Pick 5)
- Separate numbers with dashes
- on VTrac Lottery Results, Show Actual Drawing Results
Once you save it, the page opens with your layout whenever you go to its regular address (lotterypost.com/results/daily or lotterypost.com/vtracs/results), on any device you're logged in on. If your bookmark is the plain address, it now opens your layout too. A bookmark or link that has options in it (anything after a "?" in the address) still opens exactly those options, so you may want to bookmark the plain address instead. Each page keeps its own default, so saving one on Daily Numbers Games doesn't change VTrac Lottery Results, and the other way around. (Compact table isn't part of the saved layout.)
If you haven't saved a default, the pages open with the standard layout: every region, Pick 3 and Pick 4, with dashes (and on VTrac Lottery Results, the actual drawing results).
How to save your default layout:
- Go to Daily Numbers Games or VTrac Lottery Results.
- Check and uncheck the regions, Pick games, and other options until the page looks the way you like it.
- Click My Default Layout, then choose Save This View as My Default.
- The page reloads with your layout and the message "Saved as your default layout."
The top line of the menu tells you what you're looking at: Viewing Your Default Layout, Viewing the Standard Layout, or Not Your Default Layout (or Choose a Game and a Region to Save, when no game or region is checked). Here's what the rest of the menu does:
- Save This View as My Default saves what's on the screen now, replacing your old default. It's grayed out when there's nothing new to save, such as when you're already looking at your default, or when no game or region is checked. When you're looking at the standard layout and have a default saved, it isn't in the menu; to make the standard layout your default again, use Reset to the Standard Layout.
- Show My Default Layout takes you back to your default after you've been trying other options. (Before you've saved a default, this one reads Show the Standard Layout.)
- Reset to the Standard Layout, which appears once you've saved a default, removes your saved default, so the page goes back to opening with the standard layout. You'll see "Your default is now the standard layout."
- Copy a Link to This View copies a link to exactly what you're looking at, so you can share it. Any member who opens that link sees the same regions and options you do, not their own default. You'll see "Link copied."
A heads-up if you had turned off the dashes: if you had unchecked Separate numbers with dashes (or Show Actual Drawing Results on VTrac Lottery Results), the page will show them again until you save a default. Just uncheck it once more and choose Save This View as My Default, and it will stay that way from then on, on every device you log in on.
My Groups: saved groups of states and games
If you often look at the same set of states and draw times (your home state and its neighbors, for example, or a handful of states' evening drawings), you can now save that set as a group with its own name, and select it again with one tap.
Groups work in all four tools: the Lottery Results Search Engine, VTracs Search Engine, Combinations Analysis, and Pairs Analysis. After you choose a game type (Pick 3, Pick 4, and so on), you'll find them on the My Groups line, along with Last used.
A few things to know:
- One tap on a group's name selects exactly the states and draw times in that group, replacing whatever was selected before.
- A group remembers places and draw times, not one particular game, so a group saved on Pick 3 selects the same places on Pick 4 and the other game types.
- Your groups are shared by all four tools, so a group you save in the Lottery Results Search Engine is there for you in Pairs Analysis too.
- You can save up to 20 groups, and each name can be up to 40 characters.
- Last used works just like before, for everyone, logged in or not, and it's remembered on each device.
How to save a group:
- Open one of the four tools and choose a game type, such as Pick 3.
- Select the states and draw times you want. Tap a state to select all of its draw times, tap individual midday and evening games, or use Regions.
- Tap Save as group. (It's grayed out until you've selected something.)
- Type a name for the group (the box suggests one to get you started) and press OK.
Your new group appears on the My Groups line. Next time, just tap its name, then continue as usual. If you type the name of a group you already have, you'll be asked whether to replace that group with what you have selected now.
How to rename, update, or delete a group:
- Tap Edit groups on the My Groups line. (It appears once you've saved a group.)
- The My Groups box lists all of your groups, each with a short description of what it holds. Next to each one:
- Rename gives it a new name.
- Replace with current selection updates it with the states and draw times you have selected right now.
- Delete removes it.
- Tap Close when you're done.
If you aren't logged in, Save as group asks you to log in or register first.
