hey vang, wasssssssuuuuuuuuuuuppp ?
thank's for meeting me here. you are lucky ! i am going to give you some advice that will help revolutionize your relationship with christ. it is something i have chosen to live by and has served me well over the years. (1)never take any man's word for it! not your church, not your pastor, not any person who claims to speak on god's behalf and certainly not me. and what i mean is this, you "MUST" have a "mind of your own" and you must make decisions concerning your relationship with christ based "SOLELY" on what god has to say about any given subject in his word (the bible). god alone is our authority for the decisions of life we face daily.it is not wrong for us to ask for advice from people- (especially from those who are mature in god's word). but it is a mistake to just take for face value everything someone tells you. do not become a robot never questioning what you have been "told" to believe. the bible say's that we have personal responsibility for "what" we have believed and what we teach other's about god. at the end of our life and we stand before christ we will " give an accounting" about what we believed. we will never be able to blame other's for what we believe. we will stand alone before god with no one to help plead our case. god has said to us in his word to "study to show yourselves approved unto god, rightly dividing the truth so that on that day you will not be ashamed". there are some pretty bizarre stuff being taught about god. i guarantee you that man down thru the age's has complicated what god had intended to be a simple love relationship. man has created "religion". god created "relationship". we get the two mixed up when man starts adding all these unecesssary "rules" into the relationship(religion). religion is basically man's effort thru a list of rules and regulations in order to be right with god. god intended us to be free. and because of christ he has made us free. he did for us what we cannot do for ourselves.my first priority with you is to get you to think for yourself. establish a daily relationship with christ and do the best to live each day free. i am fortunate in that early on in my relationship with christ that i didn't just do or believe what people taught me or "wanted" me to believe. i spent alot of time reading god's word because i realized that i had personal resposibility. consequently i could tell when people were telling me to do something or believe something and it wasn't right. too many people are robots and don't really even know what they believe ( i don't get that impression with you though from what i read in your questions). because i have "my own mind", god has been able to do some really cool thing's thru my life that he would have not been able to otherwise. veng, the ultimate authority is god's word so we will go there to see what he has to say about what you have asked me. (1) is gambling a sin? the bible is silent on the issue of gambling. this is where what i told you about having your own mind comes into play. evidently somebody somewhere along the line has told you that gambling is a sin. that is not true, if the bible does not directly address the issuse as sin than how can anyone say for certainty that is sin and then turn around and "lesgislate" that on to you? the bible does however have alot to sat about how we handle the $$$$ that god gives us. he has said many times over that they way to riches is hard work (psalms, proverbs, etc.) and he has alot to say about what you believe about where your provision ($$$$) is going to come from and who you need to trust, especially in times of financial hardship. we are to trust that god will provide and not act desperate like people act who don't know god. there is one thing that you can count on about the character of god- if you belong to him, he HAS TO PROVIDE.he has promised us that he would and he cannot violate his word. that may not mean that he will provide as you/i would like him to, but he will provide. so if you have financial concerns, then you must ultimately trust him and act like you do by the choices you make. people get desperate and don't trust god and try and take "shortcut's". does this mean that i am saying as a christian that you cannot play the lottery - no i am not. you can but here is the key. do thing's god's way first, work hard, manage your money well that you do have. don't act in desperate manner. don't act like some people do who say that god owe's them, he does not owe us -we owe him. live like you might not ever win , live like you trust him no matter what and then if it happens then that is icing on the cake. i know by the way that i have chosen to live that if it happen to me my life would not be defined by $$$$, it would still be defined by my relationship with christ no matter how much $$$$ i would win. that is a good way to live. if i win-cool, but if i don't i still have tremendous peace. i advise people that if you are a christian and in your conscience between you and god you feel that it is ok (gambling is a liberty issue between you and god)to play the lottery, by all means don't waste your money on alot of ticket's or these ridiculos scams that say that we can increase your odd's at winning. the lottery is totally random and as such is subject to god's will. if you are mean't to, you will.if you are not, you won't. a $1 ticket will tell you whether or not if god intends for you to win. if you are spending more than that it is a waste of $$$$. as far as the liberty issue goes, what is ok with you to do before god may not be ok with someone else. as long as it is not earmarked as sin and your conscience about the subject matter before god doesn't bother you, have at it. but don't EVER do it (gamble) in front of another christian who "is" bothered by it.i go to a non-denominational church. i have found (for me) that it help's to weed out all the extra "Junk" that denominations can put on one's relationship with god ( the extra rules and regulations that god never intended). but no church is perfect and so we must fight to sift thru the man-made stuff to live free, which i do. veng, please write back and let me know if i helped you. "read god's word and THINK FOR YOURSELF"........visiondude
thinking for our selves is not a license to do whatever we want. we are always subject to god's laws-whether we like it or not !!!
"i am .........."meant to"
P.S., that RJoH is a stand up guy. thanks, vision
