Just a thought:

What happens when one ticket wins the jackpot?  They get the whole amount.

What happens when more than one ticket wins the jackpot?  They share the amount.

If a winning ticket is not claimed....is it really a winning ticket then?

So what I was thinking if 2 tickets were sold for a drawing and one was claimed and the other one expired....what would be wrong with that one person that claimed the only "jackpot given" ticket the entire amount?  It makes since doesn't it?

What do you guys think?

Brad

    Emotionally, it would be

Check the State Lottery Report Card
What grade did your lottery earn?

Sign the Petition for True Lottery Drawings
    Help eliminate computerized drawings!

I read about a similiar case a few years ago concerning a state lottery where I think there were 3 winning tickets and one went unclaimed.  The decision in that case was that each ticket won a potion of the jackpot and each ticket holder was only due 1/3 of the jackpot, because that situation was covered in the rules of the games.  I would bet that the Powerball game have a rule to cover that situation also.
