Hi Teufellj -
Thank you for clarifying your post! An apology is not needed nor would I ask for a retraction of what you wrote, my friend. My prayers go out to you and your family as well as to all our troops and their families. A part of my heart died through the Viet Nam war and even though the memories seem to fade, they never really do. I applaud you Teufellj and all of our veterans of war! I think that those people out there carrying on in our streets should recount the words of President John F Kennedy "And so my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country."
Power comes from strength and strength comes from unity and as I said before, we, ALL Americans need to come together now and back up our President! Those who doubt should reflect on what President Regan, in 1964 said, "There can be no real peace while one American is dying some place in the world for the rest of us. We are at war with the most dangerous enemy that has ever faced mankind in his long climb from the swamp to the stars, and it has been said if we lose that war, and in so doing lose this way of freedom of ours, history will record with the greatest astonishment that those who had the most to lose did the least to prdvent its happening. . . . If we lose freedom here [in America], there is no place to escape to. This is the last stand on Earth."
And as President Truman once said: "America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand."
So, in closing, I say, it's time, let's get the job done!
Teufellj, you have a good day today also, hope you also win lots!
Susan
