  For all the criticism the TX Lottery Commission is getting over the new format, Lotto Texas is still a MUCH BETTER game than my NY Lotto (3/6 wins $1, versus a minimum $3 prize in Texas; 38-40% prize return in NY against 52% with the new Lotto TX).

  You are right on that point.  Is it true that you can play NY Lotto for 50 cents a ticket?  It still costs one dollar in Texas.

  NY Lotto is 2 plays/$1; no 50c bets. There is NO lotto game in the US with 50c wagers.

  I think CASH meant that you still have to pay the $1 (as opposed to Pick 3 and Pick 4 where you can actually play for 50 cents).

  If you want to go by plays for a $1, Super 6 would be the best at 33 cents per play, but that's about the only thing it's the best at.

  From what I gather, Super 6 gives you two free quick picks for every dollar you spend.  If they really gave you three "planned" choices, the game might be worth playing. 

  I know there is a case for quick picks and a lot of people win with them, but I like to pick my own poison and take responsibility for my own actions.  That is why I never by scratch-offs.  The odds are fabricated and the concept of taking what the "State" gives you, no questions asked, sticks in my craw.

  Even if you ask for "quick-picks", PA Super-6 is a game that was questionable when it began nearly five years ago, long before PA joined MUSL/PB.

  Super-6's jackpot odds per dollar are 1 in just under 40 million, vs 1:47.7 million in the new Lotto Texas. PA has a significantly lower population base than TX.

  The "cash value" of Super-6 is 50% of the annuity, while the percentage is markedly higher for Lotto Texas (even though there is one more annuity payment in Super-6).

  smd173 may believe that you get two "bonus" plays on Super-6, but it messes up those who like to "wheel" numbers (Gail Howard, etc). I don't think multi-million dollar jackpot games should have automatic quick-picks (unless there are free plays for a low match). "Texas Million" was the kind of game that *should* have automatic quick-picks; however, the format isn't catching on.
