If Funny Cide wins Saturday, it (the horse was GELDED) will be the first Triple Crown winner in 25 years.

Cash Only - is your mother or grandmother past menopause?  If so, do you refere to them as "it" instead of "her" simply because they are unable to reproduce?

I don't know as much about thouroughbred racing as lotteries, but, I think NYRA requires X number of horses in a race for there to be exacta/trifecta etc wagering. Then again, it's the Belmont.

            CASH,

You are correct, and it's not just NYRA that requires X number of horses for certain wagers.

However, I would be extremely surprised if they didn't allow trifecta betting in a 6 horse race. 5 horses would probably cause them to drop it. 6 is pretty common, especially at tracks out west like Bay Meadows. I doubt they will allow Superfecta (pick 4) wagering today.

All that being said...the payouts today will probably not be that great unless you see Supervisor in the top 3.

Well I was really disappointed in Funny Cide. Although as soon as he jumped out to the lead at the start, I knew he wouldn't win. He just wasn't going to have enough gas.

Oh well. Another year without a Philadelphia championship...another year without a Triple Crown Winner.... geez.
