Has to be a first for either Powerball or Mega Millions. All those $3 and $4 winners from the $261m jackpot run gave players money to fuel the pot.

    I'm pretty sure the same thing happened after the $315 Mil jackpot.

    The more interesting stat from last night's draw is that there were NO MATCH 5 WINNERS! That's the first time that has happened since 12/08/2001!

          Actually it wasn't the 01/01/03 drawing but the 01/04/03 drawing jumped from $12 Million to $23.2 Million.

              Makes sense to me. Most people probably didn't cash in their winnings from the 12/25 drawing until after the new year.

                Actually, it jumped from $14.5 million to $22.6 million from 1/1/2003 to 1/4/2003.
