    5/53 + 1/42

Probably the worst is 6/69 (PA Stupid-6).

gotta agree with CASH Only... 6/69 matrix no fun at all.... based on rollovers, very few people like it anywhere in PA... time for a new game...

That's what Cash4Life was. You picked 4 numbers between 00-99. That's essentially 100 numbers. Pretty cool, huh? It could have been MUSL's next big property, but they had to keep a revolving door game system going. It was replaced with Rolldown, and now it's Hot Lotto. But the system has gone downhill. It started with Daily Millions, and when C4L took it's place, most of the states in DM adopted it too. But when Rolldown came, not as many states jumped on. And now Hot Lotto has even less states participating. I think MUSL's being very foolish. But if you want to play C4L, a similar game is found in WA's Set For Life and NJ's Lotzee (what a cool name).

c4l's biggest problem was the top prize ($1000/wk for life); no cash option was available (same with the WA game.)

Hot Lotto is not going away. North Dakota is joining it next year; there are other lotteries that could join (Maine, ie, is a possibility since it soon will re-join MUSL).

                  I suppose with my $300 win that 5/52 + 1/52 is better than     5/53 + 1/42.

It really doesn't matter the matrix size because the prize amounts are adjusted accordingly.  It allow depends on the amount you are willing to risk for a certain size prize.  Some people like the pick3, but I'm not interested in a jackpot of $500.

apparently I am "not meant to"... hence my preference on systems vs. QPs... lady luck may smile on me from time to time, but never with her wallet open :-(

I don't think the 5/39 should be lumped in there. In Texas anyway all the above matrixes would have JPs of at least 1 million. Our now dead 4/99 game started at 1 mil too. The 5/39 which became 5/37 JPs are around 50K.... I believe this would classify it as a pick 5 game. Which is different than how a *lottery* game is usually defined as having JPs in the millions. Not trying to be a weenie, just looking for consistancy in terms to avoid confusion.

5/39 might be the most common US lottery matrix-it's also the upper set of numbers in "Hot Lotto" (19 hot balls).
