Hi All Lotto Lovers,
Just an idea. And I want your active participation on this topic.
I guess pattern prediction should supercede anything else in the lottery, and once we work out a pattern, then predicting a set of numbers to play should become a lot easier. Below I give examples of what I have to share. These patterns are from our Arunachal (A State in India) MaxLotto which is a 12-draw-old new 649 lottery and allows for wins with matches of 2 numbers onwards and is played every Saturday.
Pattern Convention: 0 represents 0-9, 1 represents 10-19...4 represents 40-49.

The idea is to analyze the patterns, rather than hot, cold, etc., numbers. So once we identify the next pattern in this irregular series, we can then pick numbers that obey the pattern. The biggest benefit of this could be COST REDUCTION and maxium gains with minimal investments! This forum is full of participants who are mathematicians, experienced programmers, and lotto veterans. I feel with active participation and inputs from all, we can arrive at something useful for all.

interesting... looks like Decades...
for example, powerball (white balls, for the 5 of 53 OR the Powerball)...
Decade 0 = 1 thru 9
Decade 1 = 10 thru 19
Decade 2 = 20 thru 29
Decade 3 = 30 thru 39
Decade 4 = 40 thru 49 (white balls) or 40 thru 42 (Powerball)
Decade 5 = 50 thru 53
so, a drawing of 04-14-27-29-48 PB 21 would have a decade pattern of 0-1-2-2-4 PB 2 (as you describe above)
There are other "signatures" to a drawing result set, for the above numbers...
Odd/Even = E-E-O-O-E PB O
LD (Last Digit) = 4-4-7-9-8 PB 1
If the previous draw were 7-28-46-51-53 PB 9, then you could use...
Up/Down... D-D-D-D-D PB U
I have seen all of these patterns mentioned elsewhere (when combined) as the "Fingerprint of a drawing". It's been my experience that it's just as difficult to predict the next draw's Even / Odd pattern as it is to predict the numbers... it would be nice to be able to start with predicting these, good luck!

would it matter if they were arranged sequencially vs. how they were drawn? 2,9,26,33,45 vs 33,9,45,2,26

I like to call processes like this "Generic Variables", easy to convert past drawings into the form, but much too vague to turn back into real numbers... unless you are trying to trim the fat off of a large wheel.
Given that they are not precision tools, I think that sorted/sequential is the best way to use them... it's like a different way to view the data... make it easier to comprehend. I have looked at them both ways with the powerball, and when done in Draw order, it is just as confusing as viewing the raw draw data. Viewing sequential/sorted lets patterns emerge easier... (from the above example)...

Sort order makes it easier to visualize the patterns ,but it also makes it easier to visualize patterns that aren't really significant ...

Hello DreamLotto, I like this concept. I have found that some lotto draws result in number cluster patterns. For example a pair of #'s in the 20's. Sometimes a group of #'s in the teens. I have found in life that no matter how large something is, it still can be broken down into it's basic component parts and be conquered. Thanks for sharing. !$!$!$

Track the second half of the the series for pattern runs to go with the first half .
you can have three 111s but the second half will need to be 0 thru 9 in that series

Hi All,
When examining further in what I described above, we find at least three elements of the pattern keep repeating, like a genetic sequence in a genome (idea derived from genetics...LOL). {I wonder if we can employ polymerase chain reaction or PCR technique to amplify and study the above chains like they do in studying microorganisms or in forensic science...any doctor/genetist/lab technologist here...LOL?!}.
Does it mean future drawings have remnants of the past numbers?! Does it further mean random is NOT REALLY SO random?! Just a philosophy...LOL!
Now questions remain as to whether the above irregular series can be solved to yield something regular, at least a "partial chain" of sequence. I feel even if we can predict a "partial" chain of the pattern, we can net good playable numbers, combined with other analyzing methods currently in practice!!

These aren't patterns, they are gross filters you'll find in better software. Go to http://www.ldir.com/ and download the free demo of the Lottery Director software. It is fully functional without timeout except you can't add new history. However, you can take your numbers from another source and use the Lottery Director wheels and filters, it even loads the wheel in the order you enter the numbers so you can control where they drop onto the wheel if you map the wheel or want a specific six to appear together.

True patterns would be something like watching the position of past wins on the play slip, say the holes cut out and the slip (template) slid/moved around to see if the same hole pattern might result in a win positioned over another set(s) of numbers on the playslip below. This would be akin to collecting gap information which is a lottery game in itself odds of being right wise.

Those functions are already everywhere in our Chinese lottery software.I have to say its useless still

The purpose of filters isn't to help you win, but to keep you from wasting money playing combinations virtually guaranteed to lose 99 times out of
a hundred draws. BobP

Hi Folks,
I want some volunteers to figure out if my Lotto Morse Code Pattern concept and the NUMBER ELIMINATION METHOD from Lotto-Logix posted by Ennix can be COMBINED to (almost) INSTANTLY PRODUCE some decent PLAYABLE numbers!! If this succeeds directly or with SOME MANIPULATION, I am sure we have found one of the finest methods to beating some top lotteries!

Sorry, doesn't even come close. The Lotto-Logix method only removes about a dozen numbers, a signifiant reduction in odds true, but only a forth of the playable numbers removed. The rest are filters, it is no problem at all to take a program like Lotwin Lottery Line Builder and enter the remaining 38 or so numbers and setup pattern filters to allow various patterns and disallow the ones that rarely if ever occur, which is the exact amount such combinations can be found in the game. Take away all odd which occurs one percent of the time and you've removed one percent of the combinations which is not a huge reduction, just a savings 99 out of 100 draws. You still need to find a way to remove more numbers or pick winning numbers from among those that remain. Your odds of doing so got a little better, but not enough to morgage the house to play yet.
