In Powerball, when you match five numbers without the power ball, you can win a $100,000 prize. If you match five numbers without the power ball, select the Power Play Multiplier option, have the power ball multiplier number 4' drawn, and have played the same set of numbers three times, you can win a $1.2 million prize.
Thats exactly what Raland Roosa of Lebanon did to win his $1.2 million prize in the Nov. 12, Powerball drawing. By playing the same set of numbers three times, and having them drawn, Raland won three $100,000 prizes. Each prize was then multiplied by four, the power ball multiplier number chosen for the drawing, giving Raland his $1.2 million total prize.
Ralands winning numbers are a combination of the jersey numbers from professional football quarterbacks, his football jersey number from high school, and his sons jersey number. Raland always plays his numbers three times on each ticket, and adds one Quick Pick selection. I figure if I was to win a $7 prize, I would end up winning $21. Im left-handed, and I call that my left-handed way to play, he said.
Accompanied by his wife, Susan, and his mother, Raland claimed his prize at the Lottery office in Salem on Nov. 13 where he received an $804,000 prize check. This is incredible, said Susan. Everyone here has made us feel so special.
Now I think that is how you play the game hey.....haha....not bad for one drawings work.
