The one number idea came up in this forum earlier, and certainly is an interesting approach. The key number finally became the base of the Candy Number program, which on the one hand tries to predict this "magic" key number and in addition tries to the select the most likely straight/boxed suggestiions to play with. It can be tested with your local lottery at http://www.tciworld.com/CANDYNUMBER/download.htm
Probability-wise you should be able (in average) to hit the "key" number at least every fourth time correctly. in 72% of the cases (singles) your chances are 3 out of 10, in 27% of the cases (doubles) your chances are 2 out of 10, and in the rare (1%) triples cases your chances are 1 out of 10. Adding these chances together (10/3 * 0.72 + 10/2 * 0.27 + 10/1 * 0.01) will give you 3.85. So about every fourth time you will hit the one number, just based on luck. ANd that is average and can mean, as Joy2 mentioned, that it can take easily up to 15 times to hit it.
ALX, I do not really understand the the difference between showing 36 numbers with the same key number versus a predictor who might select 36 without the same key number. For the player the same system could be used. With or without the key number 36 boxed non-double non-triple numbers give you a chance of 216 (36*6) out of the 1000 possible results. That is the case with or without the key number. But then the key number selection iscertainly is an interesting approach, and if you are good at picking the one number, you are certainly in an advantage. No doubt.
Excalibur, insteresting comment as well. Probability-wise if we are looking at results each digit has a 27.1% chance to be the same as one of the numbers in the previous draws. So to pick a number form the previous selection would not be a bad idea.
When looking at keynumbers and the selection of numbers from previous draws, It is also interesting to look that the numbers in previous draws only as singles and eliminate the doubles and triples from the equation, more like the 0 and 00 in roulette. So always look at the latest singles draw instead and hope for a future singles draw....
Good luck....
