A ticket only belongs to the one who have it in hand

I certainly hope she is not planning on keeping all of her money in just one bank... If the "president" of the bank "goes out of business"... FDIC only covers $100,000 of that...

FDIC covers per account.  HOWEVER, they do not say you will get your money immediately or in one lump in dvent of the failure of the bank,.  You can be given a small amount and the next person in line, so to speak, will be given a small amount and then you go to the rear of the line  and on in on until you get the $100,000.  It could take weeks or it could takes years there is no time limit!  This is for savings accounts.  Checking accounts are treated differently.  I am not sure but I believe that money receives first payment and I do not know the status of the amount.  No guarantee on the amount.    If you mean , per account , in that you get several 100,000. accounts at the same bank, it covers only one account.  You can get 100,000 accounts at different banks and get insurance on each account.

Those "several different accounts" might have to be in a different state?

it covers $100,000 per FINANCIAL INSTITUTION... you could have 5 accounts in the same bank and still only get 100k in the dvent of disaster...

find out al the details here...
