                Hi

Now with the so called PERFECT DAILY PROGRAM.

I have finally become curios about V-traks myself.

I will try to learn something about it if i can, too.

                Bye.

                  Vtracs in excel...

                  the step-by-step...

New sheet... first row for headers DRAW|DATE|COMBO|1|2|3|V1|V2|V3|Vcombo

Column A = Drawing number THis is one you enter, start at the top (A2) enter a 1, in A3 enter a 2... if you select them both then autofill down it will autonumber for you...

Column B = Drawing Date (I keep this for reference, you could always reference this column later for other things like day of the week or month etc...)

Column C = the drawn combo. THis is how most states present you with the drawing, example... 854

Column D = First number drawn... make this automatic by using

                  =INT(C2/100)

Column E = Second number drawn... automate this with

                  =INT((C2-(D2*100))/10)

Column F = Third number drawn... use

                  =INT((C2-((D2*100)+E2*10)))

Column G = First conversion, column D to vtrac...

                  =IF(D2=0,1,IF(D2=5,1,IF(D2=1,2,IF(D2=6,2,IF(D2=2,3,IF(D2=7,3,IF(D2=3,4,IF(D2=8,4,5))))))))

Column H = Second conversion, column E to vtrac...

                  =IF(E2=0,1,IF(E2=5,1,IF(E2=1,2,IF(E2=6,2,IF(E2=2,3,IF(E2=7,3,IF(E2=3,4,IF(E2=8,4,5))))))))

Column I = Third conversion, column F to vtrac...

                  =IF(F2=0,1,IF(F2=5,1,IF(F2=1,2,IF(F2=6,2,IF(F2=2,3,IF(F2=7,3,IF(F2=3,4,IF(F2=8,4,5))))))))

                  and finally....

Column J = the vtrac combo...

                  =(G2*100)+(H2*10)+I2

All you then need to do is enter the combo in the C column... Provided that your state draws every day... and then just autofill all other columns down and it will do all of the math for you... now you have actual data and vtrac data side by side.

I still can't figure out what exactly vtrac info is good for or how exactly you use it, but it took less than 2 minutes to convert all of the PA pick 3 evening data...

                  good luck with it.

P.S. I know that more elegant and abbreviated formulas exist (MOD, etc), but the above are the least CPU intensive...

snapshot of the PA lottery (Evening pick 3, 9,187 drawings)

                    V---1st--2nd--3rd
                    1
                    ---1847-1854-1819
                    2---1917-1825-1866
                    3---1807-1848-1833
                    4---1819-1835-1878
                    5---1796-1824-1790

that's by position... the most popular vtrac combo in the PA lottery is 244 with 91 hits...

next question. When I enter in cell a,b,c 2 do I enter the latest draw and then fill in the next 50-100 draws to build a data base. Also what cell do I enter the latest current draw into where there is no blank cell? thanks again.
