Hi All,

Jus wanted to see what's the preferred choice for "wheelers".

My personal preference is for close to all the numbers. My rationale being that a wheel is only good IFF you manage to capture the required minimum amount of numbers.

Would appreciate your explanation of your choice.

I choose (10-12)numbers in the Pick-5 and (16 with 1 Key Number) in the Pick-6.Then I apply the right amount of filters to reduce the combinations down to a reasonable amount.

Gail Howard suggests 1/2, but from my experience of having all 6 winning #s picked, but not getting them in a winning combo together, I say she's wrong. But she's interested in selling software, and correct # selection & lower prize wins *show* her stuff works. But it's not giving you what you really want.
If you're a system player & your techniques for # selection are good, you should be able {over time) to keep reducing your # selection group while increasing the amount of #s you get right. Until you win.... that's the THEORY, & we all know real life & theory are mostly dissimilar.

You wheel the target of the Design (Wheel)

in relation with the money you can afford to spend.

Examples:

to spend 20$ & win 4 if 6 correct

====> cover(15,6,4,6,1)=19

Explanation

B=15 Max. Numbers

K=6 Pool Size

T=4 Win guarantee

M=6 Drawn by Lotto Game

L=1 How many times T shall satisfied

B=19 The number of tickets to Play

to spend 20$ & win 5 if 6 correct

use ==> cover(11,6,5,6,1)=22

to spend 120$ & win 4 if 4 correct

use ==> cover(15,6,4,4,1)=118

i came to this conclusion before i knew the actual odds...i picked 18 numbers wheeled them for the florida lotto and voila! i had all six winning numbers! i got 2 4 number prizes and 3 3 number prizes. needless to say i was dissappointed! that was one of my first attempts at wheeling..
the truth is, wheeling works...but it depends on what your goals are...do you want alot of small prizes, great...wheel more numbers...if you want to go for the big one, wheel a small amount of numbers and wait...thats what i do, and i usually win something, not everyweek, but i enjoy the process...so i dont really lose-even when i dont win...also worth noting i dont break the bank either!

I use Gail Howards Book on wheeling systems on each Mega Million Drawing. I only wheel 8 Numbers. I have won quite a few prizes using her 8 Number wheeling system, however, no big prizes. In total, I did win $150.00 with her wheeling system, more money I won than I would have picking my own numbers and / or picking a Easy Pick from my local lottery store.

No matter how many numbers you wheel, if you wheel them or just random pick, everyone knows its just about pure luck and choosing the correct numbers in the correct order. Using the 8 Number Wheeling System from Gails book, I only spend $4.00 and often win $10 or $20 if I chose the correct numbers.

I say her book is pretty good, and provides you with useful information. I dont use her Online wheeling system, too many numbers and plays.

After only winning $3 off 29 quick picks on Saturday, I have decided to go back to the strategy in which I play tickets using my numbers and playing tickets that are quick picks, and I will compare the results. Wheeling systems are too expensive and too risky for powerball, especially if you get the red ball wrong, so I will probably play hot numbers and due numbers along with red balls that are due.
You said that you play a pick-6 lotto game. In what state?
I play powerball (5/53 + 1/42) since I live in Nebraska, but if I ever go to Disneyworld in the near future, I will probably play the Florida lotto. The Florida lotto, if I am not mistaken, is 6/63. Do you prefer the pick-6 over the Powerball and Mega Millions games that have a bonus ball? Why or why not?

i live in new york, but travel to florida very often...the game in florida is 6/53 which is where i won a little over $200
i too have gail howard's book, and have found it helpful...that is how i won the most prizes with a $10 power number or key number wheel-2 or 3 times i got a little too ambitious, and learned my lesson...i now stick to just a small amount of numbers wheeled...besides i like arranging them on the tickets and trying to guess the powerball, with big wheels that just gets too time consuming and complicated, not to mention cost prohibitive...besides if i need too many numbers, that means i dont see any strong trends...in which case it is probably better to wait and play when i do
i also play MM in New York and also sometimes the Take Five which has the lowest odds
kristen, there is no question about luck being involved and being able to pick the right numbers...gails book suggests not playing more than half the numbers or you will be spending to much for a small amount of prizes...implicit in that statement, but which she doesnt explicitly state in her books is the fact that the more numbers you wheel the more likely you will have all 5/6 numbers match BUT the less likely you will have them all together on the same ticket! notice she has a section in the back of her book called Lotto Win Frequency Charts (which is similiar to the first part of the table above provided by Robert Perkis on lotto-logix.com) she does not however, have a Lotto Heartbreak Frequency chart which tells you that you will have all six numbers and still not have the jackpot! lol
so, you are right to wheel only 8 numbers! you may not capture that many small prizes, but should your numbers ever match the winning numbers you will be much more likely to have them together on the same ticket than if you wheeled 18 numbers

i actually prefer the florida lotto to mm or pb, because the odds are lower on 6/53 and the lower tier prizes are good. 3 numbers will get you around $15-20 (the low prizes are pari mutual)
the rewards of MM are obviously the higher payout for 2nd prize. $175,000, the first prize ain't too shabby either if you can get it...but the difference in odds between the two games is huge! MM i think is 113 million to 1, FL lotto is 23 million to one, give or take a few million LOL
you should really check out www.lotto-logix.com read some of robert perkis' articles his are the best, especially "the truth about frequency distribution"
he likes to wheel alot more numbers than i do, i think he tries to wheel them all and use filters to lower the ticket cost...i pick a few numbers and wheel them...the next time i get all the numbers right, i want to see them on the same ticket!

Even if you play all of the 52 mega balls (42 powerballs in the other game), you still need to win enough money from the white balls to cover your losses. I live in Nebraska, so I can only play Powerball, but since Powerball only has 42 bonus balls, I might play each of them for Saturday's drawing (still thinking about it). But don't worry Cash Only, I still want the lump sum.

Have you looked at the Florida Mega-Money game ? It's a 4+1 (32 balls) game, but you win a prize (around $1) for matching just 2 numbers. Two+bonus is around $25, and 3 matched is around $40-50.
BTW, have any of you looked at WINHunter software? IT deals with predicting numbers, not lines, and allows for filtering designs that are not possible in any other software in existence!
