The following is something new from the Powerball web site, just noticed it today:

Attention Powerball® players:
It has come to our attention that fraudulent emails are being sent out promising to pay Powerball prizes. These emails claim that the recipient has won a prize in Powerball or Australian Powerball or some other non-existent international version of Powerball. These emails include our name, our logo and links to a copy of an old Powerball® web page. The authors of these emails are not affiliated with the true Powerball® game and are illegally misappropriating our name, logo, and website. You should not send any money or personal information to these people in an effort to collect the promised "winnings." The web site has been shut down, but it may appear on another hosting service.
