I am trying to do a few Message body searches and I get constantly:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e31'

Timeout expired

/search.asp, line 143

Is that my system (being too slow), the search to big, or somehting else.

Good Luck!

    Hey Mike,

It's not your PC, it's the server.  Although I am running Lottery Post on a dedicated server, it's not enough at this point.  I am currently preparing a massive technology upgrade that will add tons of power to the database engine.  That will fix problems like that timeout.

I just finished building four new servers that will form the basis of the new setup.  The database server itself is way-out cool, with a 9-disk RAID array, and one hot-spare.  (15,000 RPM Ultra SCSI drives!)  The server also has 8 GB of RAM, so the entire database could theoretically fit into RAM at this point.

I'm documenting things along the way, so one day I'll publish the upgrade in a nice article.
