On March 12, 2004 the California Lottery, in collaboration with the State Controller's Office and the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, announced the transfer of $15,064,892.53 to California's public schools. This is the cash value of the $28.5 million unclaimed SuperLotto Plus jackpot, that expired in March 2004. The Lottery has forwarded $537 million in unclaimed Lottery prizes to public schools, since 1985.
