A ticket a day is the way to play. I generally buy the for all of the draw games (2 weekly) on Monday all at one time. Instants, when I have an extra buck any day. Same for Daily Cash 5.

Which lottery do you mean?

I do Pick 3 nearly every day. $5 a day is a very expensive day for me and rarely happens.

I do not play Pick 4, Pick 10, Pick 5 or Lotto (Pick 6).

I will do Lotto or Mega when the jackpots are very large, and only then a dollar for a Quick Pick. I figure the odds are so huge, I'd rather let "luck" decide. So far "luck" has not favored me -- obviously!

Wow, seems like you play quite a bit! Which games do you play? I find myself playing every once in a while, maybe every two weeks when I can afford to scrounge up some loose change hidden in the cushions of my couch. I usually play the daily pick 4 games, or something similar. So far I've been modestly successful. Do you use a number wheel system at all?

I used to play 3 pic/ gave up
now I will only play when jackpots climb. that way if I win it will be worth while/ rather than the 50 cents play on pic 3 only a $40.00 win can they afford it.?

I play the megabucks, powerball, and mega millions when they each reach a certain amount. Megabucks has to be at 8 million, powerball has to be 60 million, and mega million has to be 100 million or more. Sometimes I buy tickets just because I'm at the store but usually I wait til they reach an amount.

Weekly sometimes more often. When I get the urge to see what I can come up with and if it seems as if it may hit, then play. However don't spend more than $5 even if the jackpot is large because I've found that adding more money won't make the win happen!

$4 per week (usually) on PB, 2 per draw (1QP, 1 my pick)
$4 per week match6 (ONE ticket per drawing)
Cash 5 (ONLY when @ 600,000 or more, works out to less than 10 times per year)
Pick3 (once in a blue moon for real, every day and night on paper)
pick4 (never)
average week about $8....
I enjoy playing with the numbers (mostly in Excel), so I voted for the Hobby choice... The only "fun and excitement" I have had for real on the lottery is the fact that I am ahead (not by much, a few bucks actually, but still ahead) on the Match6...

My statistics are very similar:
I spend $4 per week on Powerball no matter what the jackpot level usually playing either 1 quick-pick and 1 my-pick or 2 quick-picks per draw. I usually play the quick-picks for 5 advance draws.
I spend $4 per week on 6/49 Megabucks (only if it's at or near record levels) ...otherwise I devote these funds to purchase Powerplay on my Pb tickets. Above $60M I drop Powerplay option for extra tickets.
If the Pb jackpot reaches $100M I usually spend more per draw. If the jackpot reaches $200M I always spend some more :-)
For the year 2003 I also averaged roughly $8 per week on the lottery.
The most I ever splurged on a single Pb draw was $30.00 in December of 2003 when the jackpot was high.
On special occasions I sometimes buy 7 advance draws for $250K 6/36 Daily Supercash game ...but not regularly.
On those occasions when I find myself in Iowa, I usually get some advance draws for Hot Lotto :-) ...wish we had Hot Lotto!
