Here's a classic. Many of you heard this one before but many have'nt, so bear with me.

A employer offers a prospective employee the following wages.

"Day one I'll pay you one cent and I'll double your wages every day for thirty days. For as long as you work for this company, that will be your monthly wages." The prospective employee storms out, thinking no way will I work for such low wages.

Did the prospective employee make the right choice?

The Math:

Day1-1cent

Day2-2cents

Day3-4cents

Day4-8cents

Day5-16cents

Day6-32cents

Day7-64cents

Day8-$1.28

Day9-$2.56

Day10-$5.12

Day11-$10.24

Day12-$20.48

Day13-$40.96

Day14-$81.92

Day15-$163.84

Day16-$327.68

Day17-$655.36

Day18-$1,310.72

Day19-$2,621.44

Day20-$5,242.88

Day21-$10,485.76

Day22-$20,971.52

Day23-$41,943.04

Day24-$83,886.08

Day25-$167,772.16

Day26-$335,544.32

Day27-$671,088.64

Day28-$1,342,177.28

Day29-$2,684,354.56

Day30-$5,368,709.12

Isn't that the deal they gave Rebecca Paul?

Playing more than one ticket per game is betting against yourself.
