here we go again.....  Thanks for the update weshar. Good luck everyone.

(the increase in the jackpot amount was guaranteed.  They had estimated such a low rollover amout.)

Not true. There is no guarantee that Saturdays jackpot will be 212 million. It's estimated and listed as such on the state Powerball web sites.

I said the increase was guaranteed, not the 212 million estimate.  I know its just an estimate, but the 205 million "estimiate" was too low, so it was guaranteed that "there would be an increase" (from what we've seen in the past).  When the jackpot is at this level, its very hard for them to estimate the jackpot.

Why...or if there is no answer to why then I'd say it has not been legalized offline yet.

Whatever the actual versus estimated is... it is certainly orders of magnitude greater than the amount I will play to try and win it, so I'll be happy if my 6 match their 6 ;-)

Playing more than one ticket per game is betting against yourself.

PeterAdvanced:  You do know that Texas joined the Mega millions lottery after the legislature approved them to join a multi-state game.  They had their chance to join Powerball but decided that Mega Millions was a better fit for Texas.

Can you please provide a source for your confusing statement?

On the Pa web site it"s always listed as a new estimate, never as a guarantee over the old estimate.

Twisted, after re-reading your statements about 20 times I finally figured out what you were trying to say.  Your use of the word "guarantee" is the problem.

You were trying to say that their first estimate of $205 million was too low, and that you felt it was a sure thing that the estimated jackpot would be increased prior to the drawing.
