  Ok.  This poll is asking you what you see for Powerball's future (10 years from now).

  I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

  Powerball's future is expanding to get the rest of the small states left in the U.S. to join Powerball.  I don't think Powerball needs to merge with Mega Millions since it is the larger lottery game.  I voted for a rules change since their will be more states joining the odds will go up.

  I want Powerball to remain just as it was this afternoon when I bought my tickets for tonight's draw ;-) With 19 draws (last year) at $100M or more, it seems that the game is set up just about right to attract players at both the normal and high jackpot levels. Powerplay is a nice optional feature at those times when a person wants to play fewer number sets and still chase very nice prizes. The fact that the number selection 5/53 and +1/42 is slightly different from MM adds a little diversity for those who play both games. As long as we see periodic jackpots in the $100-$200M range, I'm happy with the current set-up.

  one problem is that more and more states are joining, and that adds more players, which makes it more likely that the jackpot will be hit each drawing.  think about what happens once states like wyoming, alaska, oklahoma, and north carolina get lotteries.  they are going to want powerball.

  With more states getting in, they have to reduce the odds of winning in order to keep it going.  I think people will get tired of it and stop playing.

  Another note, the Powerball Instant Millionaire Game Show is going away at the end of September, with the due date for entries for the last taping(at least here in Louisiana) being May 24.  I've been buying tickets for it for a few years now and so far, haven't gotten on!  Hopefully I'll make that last taping.

  As more and more states join, they will have to make it harder to win. I hope they never try to accomplish this by raising the cost of a ticket to $2. I think this is a mistake that some states make. There are many people who may not justify spending $1 on a ticket because they believe they have no chance of winning even when the jackpot gets above $200 million. If they won't spend a dollar they sure as heck won't spend $2. This may might hurt sales to the point where the jackpots actually could be lower. I know I would buy fewer tickets if the tickets were $2. The only way to justify making a game harder to win is to lower the odds which means more balls. They may have to go the same route as Mega Millions with a 5/52 + 1/52 matrix or some other matrix to increase the odds.

  It might make sense for Canada to charge $2 per play...but not yet in the US.

  It's just a matter a time. Pick 5 and pick 6 games will charge $2.00.

  Pick 3 and pick 4 will rise to $1.00

  If one state lottery does it. Within a few months they all will get on the increase price band wagon.

  It's coming and sooner than most people expect.

  Powerball will probably become a harder game to win in the future.There has been an italian 6/99 now.More historical numbers Powerball have,more probably it could be won so that they have to change the rule of game.

  there are only 170 results in powerball on the new matrix... that's a VERY young game (like PA Match6 with only 33 games under it's belt)

  I have 3,028 results for PA Cash5, it gets hit on average every night (and it is played 7 days a week!)... the state is making money so I doubt they will EVER change that game.

  the PA pick 3 is my biggest history file with 9,293 entries dating back to 1977...

  people keep playing PA cash 5 because it gives a very high top prize, considering the matrix.
