If you are ever considering using Lottery Universe, don't say I didn't warn you.

Let's say you get lucky and win the big $100 million Mega Millions or Powerball prize.  Section 15 of their terms and conditions states:

Maximum payout at Lottery Universe is $1,000,000.

Shockingly, you would only receive the first $1 million of the prize, and they would keep the rest!

You can see the full terms and conditions here: http://www.lotteryuniverse.com/atc.html

Thanks Todd.....WOW that really stinks.  I am shocked that anyone actually purchases a subscription from them.

Thanks for the keen attention to detail Todd....

What a rip off.  Thanks Todd for the warning.  I have always used "Niles International" and have no reason to try any other service online such as LotteryUniverse.

the sad thing is that they can legally do that since they are the ones actually purchasing the tickets.

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

I'm not so sure it's legal - it depends who owns the ticket.

It's theirs if they sign the back of it though.  Remember a lottery ticket is a bearer instrument.

It's not legal for them to sign it if they have already entered into a legal contract with you saying it's yours.  I know quite a bit about this subject.

                Thanks Todd

I'm staying away from those guys!!!  It would be better just driving to a different town to play a particular lottery if your state doesn't have it.

Smart lottery winners form trust to claim their winnings.  They send an attorney to the lottery headquarters to claim the prize in trust, so that ONLY the name of the trust is revealed.  And they tell NO ONE, especially relatives.

If you ever win a lottery and you are single, the only person you should ever marry is someone who was truly in love with you BEFORE you won the jackpot!

I personally use the betslips.com guys - which is why I put their advertising on the left side of the page.  They are definitely the best, most reputable and honest people in the business.  And they are very reasonable.

Lottery Universe has always seemed kind of shady to me.  I purchased once from them but they did not buy the tickets on time so they bought it for the next drawing.  I have not dealt with them eversince.  I agree with Todd betslips.com is the best I have dealt with.

Interesting......the link to their terms and conditions is actually http://www.lotteryuniverse.com/atc.aspx and section 15 says just what Todd said it did......amazing !!

I also found that i)  They no longer offer the Texas Lottery and ii)  none of their email links work any more (not that they ever replied when they did).

As a group,(class action)  maybe we can file a lawsuit against them and drive them out of business.

Does anyone know about Caribsports.Com?  Are they OK ? Looks like they have larger payouts on p3 and p4. Maybe nice to play other states too. No more running to the store as well.

Just to let you guys know, I've lodged a complaint with the British Fair Trading department about these guys (as the parent company SEEMS to be based in Bristol, UK).

I'll let you know what happens.
