  a friend of mine hit the mid day pick 4 Straight box $2 bet  6146.  He told me what numbers he was going to play (6146, 6274, 6149, 6249)  but I dont play midday pick 4.  Thats the second time this year he's hit pick 4 straight, he hit back in March or April also so he's already close to 9 grand in winnings this year.  I asked him how many times he's won pick 4 and he said 5 times since he started playing 3 years ago.  3 in Kentucky and two in Indiana.  I asked him how many times has he hit pick 3 and he said about 10 times.  I asked him what else he plays and he said just pick 3 and pick 4 in Kentucky and Indiana 3 times a week (Indiana is a 10 minute drive across the bridge from Louisville)  and he never plays Cash 5, Powerball, or Lotto.  "anything where the odds are in the millions I avoid...thats another dollar I can put on a pick 3 number...I'd rather play darts blind hoping for a bullseye than put my money on blindly shooting a mosquito from 200 yards out)

  But, when he's not hitting the pick4's straight is he also able to get them boxed, without such a long stretch in between wins. And has he told you what strategy he uses for making hid desicions as to what to play...

  he told me he doesnt really use any strategy for either game but that all of his numbers have the same numbers in them.  For example all of his pick 4 numbers will contain atleast two static numbers ex 6 and 4, and he'll play numbers with 6 and 4 in every number.  He said he does the same with pick 3 except he may only play 1 static number like 2 or 3 and play numbers around them.

  Im sure he has in regards to pick 4.  He's thousands ahead this year already.  I'm still waiting for a first straight hit on pick 4.  Have had a few boxed on pick 3 and one straight 623 back in March for $600.  Last year though I missed pick 4 twice within a months time.  Once because I changed my number (that night the number I played all along came up and I changed it by one digit) and once because I didn't play because gas was more important that week.  Funny how that works.  Twice within a month my numbers came in STRAIGHT and I missed em both times.

  I like the idea of having a static / key number. Goes to show when it hits it hits big.
