Thanks for the information. In fact, when I win, I'm taking two documents, or I'll call and ask lottery personnel what documents I need. More than likey they'll need:
1. My social security card. Your social security card would probably be important because they want to know if you owe the government (social services, especially -- back child support payments) and, of course, if you owe back federal taxes and back state taxes. They're going to get their cut, first!
2. A voided check. I want my money directly deposited into my account. However, I think some lottery headquarters will cut your first check because you don't receive all your money at once: it takes approximately four (4) weeks to receive the entire amount. Now, if you request to have your first check deposited in your account, I don't know if they'll do it. Check with your state.
3. Bodyguard. You'll never know...the vultures will be circling the lottery headquarters!
P.S. I've often wondered if the lottery people are sworn to secrecy...they can't reveal to their familes or their friends the winners, giving out important information about the winner.
