First, I want to thank Ion for sending both programs.

Very much appreciated!!

The main objectives are:

1.  How to use both programs

2.  Involve others to test their Pick 3 drawings

3.  Post ideas and strategies

To be quite honest I would be the last person to try to even experiment with these programs.

I guess the old saying is, if I could use these programs anyone should be able to use them.

First of all I want to post a history of dvents:

9/21/2004 - Ion sent me the following 2 programs and associated files:

POWER332.exe

SUPER332.exe

Template Strategy Files

St32.txt

St33.txt

Associated message:

I take it your email account accepts EXE attachments.

I email you now the EXE files and the template

strategy files (ST3 and ST3.TXT).

You may share the package with others, but only for

FREE! I suggested to BigJer that you two cooperate. If

possible, send me some of your findings, etc. Perhaps

the template of a tutorial. You may write freely about

this package in Lottery Post. If good friends of yours

ask about it, please email them the package that I

sent to you. This may be just an experiment.

9/22/2004 - Ion sent :

The fixed-3 files first...

Do not change the files in any way!

Attached Fixed -3 Files:

F3.1

F3.2

F32.3

F33.4

The first thing I did was to create a New File called "Pick3" c:\pick3

Next I saved all the attachments from Ion's e-mail into the c:\pick3

Next I used Ion's program Lotwon99 and Qedit to create a Pick 3 Drawing file and named it "D3"

You can download this program from Ion's website.  It also comes with a Tutorial explainingg how to enter the drawings into the Qedit editor.

The drawing file contains roughly 1000 Pennsylvania Evening Pick 3 drawings.

I saved the "D3" Pick 3 drawing file to c:\pick3

      "super332.exe"

I opened my c:\pick3 file and doubled clicked "super332.exe"

      The program opens as follows:

      SUPER332.EXE

      Generates the Pick-3 Winning Reports

      The W3 Files

The reports are needed for selecting the playing strategies:

      The input values to "POWER332.EXE"

There are 2 options: (plus "X" for Exiting the program)

      "S" = NORMAL "SUPER3" Reporting:  A "D3" File against itself

      "F" = FIXED Reporting:  A "DATA-3" File against 4 Fixed Files (F3.?)

      "X" = Exit Program

I selected Option "F" FIXED Reporting

      The "FIXED" Option:

Generates the "Pick 3" Winning Reports-

      The WF3.X Files

The reports need a File of "Real" draws (e.g. "DATA-3) and exactly 4 FIXED Files specially created by Ion Saliu

(These are the Fixed Files Ion e-mailed in the attachments)

Exactly 24 FIXED reports are created:

      WF31.1  WF31.2  WF31.3  WF31.4  WF31.5  WF31.6  (Layers 1 through 6)

      WF32.1  WF32.2  WF32.3  WF32.4  WF32.5  WF32.6  (Layers 1 through 6)

      WF33.1  WF33.2  WF33.3  WF33.4  WF33.5  WF33.6  (Layers 1 through 6)

      WF34.1  WF34.2  WF34.3  WF34.4  WF34.5  WF34.6  (Layers 1 through 6)

These Reports were created in my c:\pick3 folder.

I double-clicked each report file and used MS Word to open the reports and print them.

      XXXX Requirement:  Ion Saliu's "F3.x" "Fixed Files"  (F3.1, F3.2, F3.3 and F3.4)

XXXX Make sure your "Data-3" File does NOT contain any "LEAST3" Files

      I don't know what LEAST3 files are.

Maybe Ion could explain these types of files and why you should'nt use them??

      XXXX Defaults:  100

              Data File: D3

              Draws to Analyze:  ALL

Continued on the next post:  Will post later today!!!

The next sequence of the program follows:

"For how many drawings to plot the winning pattern (100) - > 100  ENTER

"Enter DATA File to process - > D3  ENTER

The program then analyzes the "Fixed Files" that Ion sent in the e-mail.

        4 Fixed Files  F3.1  F3.2  F32.3  F33.4

This is the point the program hung up.  (I beleive on F32.3)

        I changed F32.3 to F3.3 and changed F33.4 to F3.4.

After changing the last 2 Fixed Files I  ran the program again.

The program analyzed all the Fixed Files:

SUCCESS!  Run FIXED Again? (Y/N)  I entered "N" for No

This is the point where I printed out all 24 Reports.

The next post are samples from each report:

          Ion,

Are these reports correct that show the zero's??

I don't want to go any further until I know the program is running correctly or if I made an error.

          Thanks,

          winsum

The next posts are for Ion's program "POWER332.exe"

            I double clicked POWER332.exe

            The following information:

            POWER332.exe

Generates straight Pick 3 combinations based on your strategy (Filter Settings)

There are two (2) options: (Plus <X> for Exit)

            <S> = NORMAL - "Super3" Generating:  Against a D3 File (Your states Pick 3 history file)

<F> = FIXED - Generating:  Against 1 of 4 Fixed Files (F3.?) (I believe these are Ions Fixed Files?)

            <X> = Exit Program

If you select <S> see next post:

              <S> NORMAL "SUPER3" Generating: Against a D3 File

Your D3 File has ________ Drawings  (Program fills in the amount of drawings in you D3 File)

Your data file MUST have at least 130,000 draws

Without counting the lines in the "LEAST3" files.

Go back and create a data file of at least 130,000 draws.  (I used MDIEditorLottoWE to create a listing of 130,000 random draws)

**** Press <Spacebar> to exit the program ***  (Just in case you don't have 130,000 drawings)

The next post will show <F> FIXED - Generating

                <F> = FIXED - Generating Against 1 of 4 Fixed Files (F3.?)

This is the least known option of LotWon

The strategy (Filter Settings) is applied to 1 of 4 Fixed Files

                specially created by Ion Saliu (F3.1 through F3.4)  F3.1, F3.2, F3.3 and F3.4

**** Defaults:  Data File to use:  F3.1

**** Number of Drawings to use:  ALL

                You have the following options:

                <G>  -  GENERATE combinations from 0 through 9 normally

<R>  -  GENERATE combinations based on POSITIONAL RANGES

<P> -  PURGE an output file and leave the combinations to play.

                          - The 3rd option assumes that you already generated an OUTPUT File according to a playing strategy.

                                        Select Generating Type:

                <G>  Generate Combinations

                <R>  Positional Ranges

                <P>  Purge output file

                I selected <G>

                  <G> Enter

***  Default Input File:  ST3  (All filters set to 0)

To avoid a lot of typing, you can save the "VALUES" of the eliminating conditions to disk files before running this program.

                  Name the Files:

                  ST-3.1 or ST-3.2 or SC3.1 etc.

ST-3 Stands for Strategy from the Pick3 Game

Extension .1 or .2 or .3 represents a particular strategy

Also, you can select "S" as the standard input device and you will type the values of the eliminating conditions at the corresponding prompts.

                              Choose the INPUT Device:

                  <S>  SCREEN = TYPE MANUALLY

No Filter in this LAYER can be larger than 8000

                      The "DRAW_#" Filter:

Represents the Pick 3 Draw converted to an Integer (e.g. 3,1,3 becomes 313)

This Filter is applied based on the:  + / - Sign next to the DRAW

If the DRAW was 810+ you can expect the next draw to be LOWER than 810  (e.g. 667)

In this example, you could set "DRAW__# to 500 for the "MInimum" Level and "810" for the "Maximum"

                      ***  The "DRAW__#" Filter is "Layer-Independent"

***  Set it in "LAYER 1" only or the "ST3.XXX Files
