I'll post my predictions later on tonight, I still have to look at my sheet.  Any one else have a good prediction idea for the number wheel?

Doubt full, it's a nice dream though.  I'm still playing no matter what.

You've got to keep playing!  For me it's cheap entertainment...spending a few hours and a few dollars... although like Kristin said, winning is definitely a nice dream.  I've committed myself to playing both MM and PB when the jackpots are over $100m, so I will post a wheel of MM numbers, probably late tonight, once I've taken a look at the stats.

Jag, what stats do you look at? Of course, it's Mega Millions, however, but where do you look at them?

Kristin, I look at a bunch of different stats, I do it all on Excel...it's a labor-intensive project when I really want to analyze the numbers.  I'm not sure it helps either!!  The first month I started I hit 4+0 for $100 on PB and it's been downhill ever since!  Because of the time it takes to get the exact numbers I want, I usually do only PB or MM, if any at all.  I'm sure lottery software would help me save time, but most of the fun is tearing apart the draw history and looking, looking, trying to find some clue.  I maintain 45 worksheets on an Excel file, 12 on the Power/Mega Ball, the rest on the Regular numbers.  I play heavily on gaps and positionals.  So I'll look at the first number in sorted order (I don't believe 'draw order' is fundamental because all that matters in the end is the five balls) and do an entire analysis on what I would expect in that position, and the same for the other four.  I think that gaps are a critical piece to improving your odds and I've got about 5 worksheets just on those.  I also do test worksheets, where I'll try out a theory and see how the numbers I match compare over time to random selections/QPs.  Another main idea is working with derivatives of what I expected to happen in draws.  Of course the toughest thing to master is knowing the right time to put weight on certain matrices.  There are only 52 or 53 possible numbers...lotteries are not complicated, just a little tricky from time to time.  I use a bunch of other methods, too many to go into detail, still hoping that they'll come through one day!

I am exhausted...didn't get out of work til 9, so the analysis is not happening tonight...I'm just going to pick a few numbers tomorrow...$1...make sure I'm in it!

What stats do you look at?

Just the recent draws, I see which numbers are most popular and less popular than the rest.  I start with the last 17 draws, and go from there.

I tend to agree with Jag...I use four excel worksheets (about 15 different excercises) to teardown the megamillions and compare the numbers to about 250 different sets that i have maintained since mega started in 2002....it started as a pretty exciting year when I hit  the first 8 of 11 draws (not more than $10).  The numbers That I have developed (but didn't use at the time) hit 4+0 six times, in the first 4 months....I thought I was on to something until it just went away......i find that several patterns come and go and sometimes your right on track with the pattern thats working and sometimes your on the wrong page........

I was reading some of your posts here about "tracking sheets." How in the world do you keep up with 12 to 40 different spread sheets?

The one I use tracks the numbers for the last 50 games or so and has everything on it I need to look at, and determine where the numbers are heading. It also shows me what numbers are "hot." What numbers "hit" after and before certain numbers. etc, etc,

And the most important "stat" of all I think, It shows me the "Bell Curve' too.

I think Kristin uses something similar from when we were discussing what I use.

It only takes oneand the right combination.

Its good excercise for the mind chief,,,I like to look at the numbers 20 different ways and about five different angles....it takes me about 40 minutes to input and then I pick what I think is the right formula with certain parameters and I stick with it untill I get ice cold.......which has happened more often than not,,,but it keeps me entertained,,,,
